Free event from The Philipstown Hub and Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce: Narcan training by Putnam Hospital Center ER doctor Aric Kupper.
Thursday, August 27 at St. Mary’s Parish Hall 9:30am

Being trained in Narcan use can turn you from a bystander to a lifesaver. You'll learn signs of an overdose and what to do. The presentation also includes some history of the opioid crisis and current drug trends including ma*****na, kratom, and xylazine.

Maybe you don't think you cross paths with too many people taking opioids, but with higher potencies and the rise of fentanyl in all sorts of substances, the training is critical for public health and safety.

Ready to lead others on the water? The ACA Paddlesport Leader (Coastal) Training/Certification Course prepares you to safely guide groups on day trips on lakes, estuaries, and tidal coastal waters. Over three days with internationally credentialed instructor Todd Johnstone-Wright, you'll develop practical skills in trip planning, on-water group management, navigation, risk assessment, and rescue. This certification is designed for kayak club leaders, camp and nonprofit staff, guides, and experienced paddlers who want to take their leadership to the next level beyond flatwater.

Prerequisites: ACA membership, current CPR/First Aid, and an ACA L2 skills assessment or higher. Contact us for assessment information.
