We're back in Indiana with the Salford 5200 Enforcer, and this time Cody is digging into the soil to show what's happening beneath the surface.

Working approximately 6–7 inches deep, we're incorporating heavy corn stalk residue throughout the soil profile while maintaining a firm bottom for spring fieldwork.

With hog manure application and another year of corn ahead, the goal is simple: bury the residue, incorporate nutrients, and leave behind a manageable field for spring planting.

Managing heavy corn residue can be a challenge, especially when you're planting corn year after year.

We headed to Richmond, Indiana, with the Salford 5200 Enforcer to help a customer find a better way to manage corn stalks, incorporate hog manure, and prepare for another growing season.

In this clip, we're digging into the freshly worked ground to see just how well the 5200 mixes and buries residue throughout the soil profile.

Heavy Corn Residue? Let's Put the Salford 5200 to Work.

We're back in the field near Richmond, Indiana, putting the Salford 5200 Enforcer to the test in some heavy corn stalk residue.

Running 6 inches deep at 9 MPH, we're looking to bury and incorporate residue while leaving behind a smooth, level finish. For this customer, it's all about managing corn-on-corn acres, incorporating hog manure, and getting the ground ready for another growing season.

Cut it, bury it, and break it down!

We're putting the Salford 2200 to work in corn stalks with all 15-inch shanks down, running around 7 mph.

The results? Consistently chopped residue, plenty of incorporation, and fractured soil beneath the surface. The shanks help lift and bury the stalks while the blades cut everything down to size.

Today, I took this picture while out delivering lunches to our farmers. I dropped the lunches off in the shop fridge, but the shop was unusually quiet. There was a tractor hooked up to a tillage tool being worked on, while everyone was out in the fields trying to get as much done as possible before the rain arrives on Sunday.

Back here in the shop, things are busy in their own way. Our guys have a long list of repairs and projects to get through, but they also have their own crops to harvest, families to take care of, parts orders to fill, equipment to deliver, and customers who are counting on us. During harvest, there’s always a lot happening, and everyone is doing their best to keep things moving.

But even in the middle of all the chaos, there’s something special about this time of year. It’s the feeling of community, the people who show up for one another, and the customers who have supported us, trusted us, and stood by us since day one.

We truly cannot put into words how much our customers mean to us. Sometimes, something as simple as a small bagged lunch can mean the world to someone who has been working long hours in the field. It’s a small way for us to say thank you and let our farmers know that we appreciate everything they do.

To all the farmers working long hours, the families supporting them behind the scenes, and everyone doing their part to get the harvest in — we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re proud to be part of this community.

We hope everyone has a safe and successful harvest. Take care of yourselves, look out for one another, and make time for your families when you can.

This field has needed this for a long time.

We’re replacing old drainage tile and installing new tile every 25 feet to help get water moving and keep this ground more consistent.

It’s an investment in the farm and in better Field Days and equipment demos for years to come.

We’re already laying the groundwork for Field Day 2027!

After dealing with wet areas in our Field Day field, we’re putting in new drainage tile every 25 feet to help keep this ground drier and more consistent.
