June 6, 1944. 🇫🇷

Last month, I stood on Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, and at the American Cemetery in Normandy — and it’s hard to put into words the enormity of what happened there.

Walking those beaches and seeing Pointe du Hoc in person, trying to comprehend what Allied forces faced that day during World War II, was one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve ever had. The scale of it all… the courage, sacrifice, and humanity… stays with you long after you leave.

Some places aren’t just destinations — they’re reminders. ❤️

I’m just a girl who absolutely loves Paris. ✨

Afternoon tea at the iconic Ritz Paris, cruising the Seine as the city sparkled around us, strolling through charming Paris streets, and ending the night at the top of the Eiffel Tower taking in views of one of my favorite cities in the world. 💫

Andy is happiest at a baseball game, and I’m happiest wandering beautiful cities like Paris… somehow we’ve always balanced each other out perfectly. ❤️

Some trips leave you tired. Paris always leaves me inspired. ✨

I’ve struggled to put this experience into words. I’ve read a lot about the Holocaust and knew I wanted to visit a concentration camp. I think it’s important for my generation and those after to experience this as very few survivors are left as the years go by. We all have the ability to learn and never repeat the atrocities of the N***s and Hi**er.

It left me with emotions I’ve never had and hard to put into words. It was learning first hand and feeling surrounded by pure evil in years past. Dachau is the camp we visited. Nothing could have prepared me for this experience, I’m thankful I went to learn so that we will never forgot.

These aren’t my usual pictures but I feel for all of those that experienced it we should share to educate so this is never to repeat and honor those who lost their lives.

Today we were in the Bavarian Alps, surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable, while walking through spaces tied to unimaginable evil, it’s hard to put into words. The beauty of the mountains feels conflicting against the weight of the history held here.

We explored the Eagle’s Nest, underground bunkers, and the site of Hi**er’s former home and thanks to our incredible guide, we were given special access to areas not open to the public, including original generators and preserved artifacts hidden beneath the surface.

It’s heavy, sobering and so emotional.

Travel isn’t always about relaxation or beautiful views. Sometimes it’s about confronting history, learning, reflecting, and making sure stories like these are never forgotten.

Today was one of those travel days I know I’ll never forget. ❤️

Walking the beaches of Normandy — Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, and Pointe du Hoc was humbling, emotional, and honestly hard to put into words. Seeing the cliffs, the bunkers still in place, and then visiting the American Cemetery overlooking the water… it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history there.

I’ve loved World War II history since I was in college, but standing in the exact places where the Allies came into France on June 6, 1944 gave me an entirely different perspective on the bravery and sacrifice of that generation.

Travel has a way of turning history into something deeply human. And this was one of those moments. ✨
