We've been having some dirt fun in Cripple Creek on Shelf Road. Beautiful days and scenery and great people! Dawn even said "this puts Garden of the Gods to shame", or something to that effect.

We got side tracked on an object in the sky we couldn't quite make out. Turned out to be a weather balloon instead of aliens.

We had the rare day off. The Pikes Peak Hill Climb is this weekend and crazy busy on the mountain. So we just had the day off. 2/3 of the Mountain Jeep guides and my grandson, William, had a free off road day. Kind of like an office get together.

Had a wonderfull time and nice to get a break. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to do serious offloading. Great day! Thanks employees of Mountain Jeep!

Brynn and Jorge. We had a big storm a little over a week ago and dumped a LOT of snow on Pikes Peak. We haven't been able to make it to the summit until today.

Brynn had booked earlier, but I told her we wasn't able to make it to the summit and asked if she could possibly rescheudle. So she did.

I told her today we still might not be able to make it to the summit. They were only open 18 of 19 miles (which is still great views). They decided to go for it and see what the day brings.

Since the winds were questionable, I told them we would go straight to as far as we could go and make stops on the way back down. I didn't want the highway to close back down further before we got to mile 18.

On the way up the switchbacks, we saw the big snow removing equipment coming back down. I thought to myself, "are we going to make it to the summit?" I didn't say anything as to not disappoint....but did point out the massive machinery.

When we came around mile 17, I noticed vehicles going up past mile 18. I told them, "we're going to the summit". "Yay", they said. Thank you road crew! They work hard to get the highway open.

Our first time to the summit since the storm. There was a LOT of snow and beautiful views.

Thanks Brynn and Jorge for being able to reschedule and for deciding to go for it. Sometimes going for it pays off.
