Greetings from Ken's Lake in Moab, UT where we caught this sunset glow against the red sandstone of the canyon and the La Sal mountain range. That towering lacolith in the middle, with a summit at 12,721ft is Mt Peale making it the highest point in Utah outside the Uinta Mountains and the 56th most prominent peak in the US.

Greetings from Canyonlands where Shaggy is demonstrating his love for heights! All those dark spots on the sandstone are not dirt, it's actually desert varnish! Also known as rock rust and desert patina, it is believed to be a type of chemical weathering that happens to rocks exposed in arid climates.
