Sharing a cruise cabin to save money? Fine.

Giving your friend permission to book before you’ve seen the itinerary? That is where I have questions. 😂

There is loving cruises, and then there is being ready for the kind of trip your travel partner has in mind.

River cruises seem to be the latest trend especially when it comes to visiting Europe!

Compared with a big ocean cruise, there are fewer passengers and fewer onboard attractions. The focus is getting off the ship and experiencing the places you visit.

This is for the traveler who wants to explore a historic town, try local food, or visit a vineyard, then come back to dinner and a quieter evening.

You could visit Vienna and Budapest on the Danube, see castles along the Rhine, or explore Paris and Normandy on the Seine.

Now, let me be transparent about the price. These generally cost more than a basic Caribbean cruise, because many fares include meals and selected guided tours.

I’d start planning one to two years ahead so we have time to work through your budget, dates, and cabin options.

Two vacations just moved from “we should go” to BOOKED. 👀

One family secured two cabins aboard Carnival Legend for a Panama Canal cruise in March 2027.

In a separate group chat, the first domino fell when one traveler booked their suite for a Jamaica all inclusive vacation in June 2027.

That is usually how group travel starts. Everybody talks about taking the trip, one person finally commits, and suddenly the vacation becomes real.

What they both have in common? They are not waiting! They booked early (especially the cruise) to avoid not having to settle! Where am I sending you in 2027! Let’s talk about it!

There is a new requirement for travelers flying back to the U.S. after an international trip. Without the completed form, you will not be allowed to board.

For flights departing another country for the U.S. at or after 11:59 p.m. Eastern on November 3, 2026, passengers must sign an attestation confirming they have not been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo during the previous 21 days.

This includes U.S. citizens coming home from Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, and other international destinations.

The purpose is to reduce the risk of Ebola entering the U.S. Your airline will collect the attestation digitally or on paper before boarding. Each passenger needs one, including children; a parent or authorized adult can sign for them.

Knowingly providing false information can lead to criminal fines and imprisonment.

The current order runs through December 18, 2026, unless changed or extended. More information will follow, and I’ll keep you informed as updates become available.

I joined the Army at 17. I was still a kid making a decision that would shape most of my adult life. I joined because one of my high school friends joined. And I had no idea where the Army would take me, the people I would meet, or how much the experience would change me.

The Army gave me discipline, structure, relationships, and experiences that I still carry today. It taught me how to adjust when plans change, take care of people, and finish what I start. And it relates so much to what I do as a travel advisor!

The best decision I made in my life for many reasons that I will share later on in this journey!
