🚢 Throwback Thursday: The Bachelor Party Photo Bomb!

Sometimes you’re just waiting to board your cruise… and suddenly you find yourself surrounded by The Bachelor Club! 😂

I spotted these guys at the port, all dressed and ready for their bachelor party cruise, and asked if I could take a picture of them.

They said yes… and then a few minutes later they called me back and asked:

“Do you want a selfie with us?”

Ummm… YES! 😂📸

So, naturally, I now have photographic evidence that I crashed a bachelor party. 😉

Sadly, I never found the guys again to give them their pictures, but they gave me permission to share them, so here they are!

And honestly, a cruise is a pretty great way to celebrate a bachelor party, great food, entertainment, activities, and plenty of opportunities to have fun together without having to plan every minute of the trip.

If you're organizing a group trip like this, working with a travel agent can also help you find the right cruise, navigate the group logistics, and make sure you're getting the best value for your budget.

Because the groom has enough to worry about. Someone else can handle the cruise details! 😂🚢

And to the groom, wherever you are, wishing you a lifetime of happiness, love, and adventure with your new bride! ❤️ May your marriage be even better than the bachelor party!

🌍 TRAVEL TIP TUESDAY: What Should You Wear on Safari? 🦁

Going on an African safari? You don’t need a whole new wardrobe—but a few smart choices can make your experience much more comfortable!

👕 Choose lightweight, breathable clothing, layers are your friend because mornings can be chilly and afternoons can get warm.

🤎 Stick with neutral colors like khaki, tan, olive, and brown. They’re practical, comfortable, and help you blend into the surroundings.

👖 Comfortable pants are a must, especially for game drives. Bonus points for lightweight, quick-drying fabrics!

👟 Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. You may be doing some walking, and this is not the time for fashion over function. 😉

🧢 Bring a hat and sunglasses, the African sun can be intense!

🦟 Don’t forget insect repellent and consider clothing that provides a little extra coverage, especially around dawn and dusk.

🎒 And one of my favorite safari packing tips? Bring a small daypack for your camera, water bottle, sunscreen, binoculars, and other essentials.

✨ Safari style is all about comfort, practicality, and layers!

Planning your own safari adventure? I can help you figure out what to pack, and how to make the most of your time in Africa.

📍 (Not So) Hidden Gem Sunday: Ghent, Belgium

Okay, maybe Ghent isn’t exactly a hidden gem… but I think it can sometimes get hidden in the shadow of Bruges. 😉

And that’s a shame because Ghent is absolutely worth discovering!

With its stunning medieval architecture, picturesque canals, historic guildhalls, and charming cobblestone streets, Ghent has all the storybook beauty you’d expect from Belgium, but with a lively, modern personality mixed in.

One of my favorite things about Ghent is that it feels like a city that people actually live in, rather than simply a place built for tourists. Wander along the Graslei and Korenlei, admire Gravensteen Castle, explore the historic center, and of course, leave time for some Belgian chocolate! 🍫

So, is Ghent a true hidden gem? Not really.
Is it sometimes overlooked? Definitely.

And those are exactly the kinds of places I love highlighting. ✈️❤️

Would you choose Ghent or Bruges for your Belgian adventure?

🐑 Throwback Thursday: Ireland!

One of my favorite memories from the Ring of Kerry was visiting Kells Sheepdogs and watching these incredible sheepdogs do what they do best! 🐕🐑

It was fascinating to see the bond between the dogs and their handler, and definitely one of those experiences that reminds you that travel is about so much more than sightseeing. ❤️

A little Irish countryside, some talented sheepdogs, and a whole lot of memories! 🍀

Travel Tip Tuesday -
💵 Should you exchange money before you travel?

My advice: a little cash can be helpful, but you don't need to exchange a lot before you go!

Having some local currency when you arrive can cover those first few expenses, while ATMs and credit cards can often be more convenient once you're settled.

✨ The key? Know the fees, compare your options, and have a plan!

Need help preparing for your next adventure? I’m here to help! ✈️💙

🌍 The clues continue! 👀✈️

If you saw my last “Guess Where?” post, you may have noticed the copy of The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. 📖 That was country #1!

Now this reel gives you a hint about country #2. 💵🌍

That’s right—I’m visiting TWO countries in Africa, and I want to see if you can figure out where I’m headed next!

Is the currency in this reel a clue? What’s your guess? 🤔👇

Drop your guesses in the comments—and stay tuned to see if you’re right! ✈️✨

📍 (Not So) Hidden Gem Sunday: Lucca, Italy 🇮🇹

Italy is one of my favorite country in Europe, and one of the things I love most about it is that I’m still discovering amazing places I hadn’t experienced before. ❤️

Enter Lucca, a charming Tuscan city that may not be a true “hidden gem,” since it’s often paired with a visit to nearby Pisa. But honestly? I think Lucca deserves to be more than just a quick stop along the way.

Surrounded by its beautifully preserved Renaissance walls, Lucca is filled with cobblestone streets, picturesque piazzas, historic churches, charming shops, and plenty of Italian atmosphere. 🚲✨

One of my favorite things about Lucca? You can actually walk or bike along the top of the city walls for a completely different perspective of this lovely Tuscan town.

So, is Lucca a hidden gem? Maybe not.
Is it worth discovering? Absolutely!

And apparently, my love affair with Italy still has plenty of chapters left. ❤️
