Our goal is to provide a quality Early Intervention program that nurtures families in meeting their child's developmental needs. About Play provides Family Training and Service Coordination in the following counties: York, Chester, Lancaster, Fairfield, Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Union, Kershaw, Sumter, Lee, Darlington, Florence, Marion, and Dillon.

Blythe Lybrand has been a valued part of the About Play family since April 2025. As an Early Interventionist, she consistently goes above and beyond to support the children and families she serves. Blythe takes the time to build strong, trusting relationships with families and always makes sure they feel supported, heard, and cared for.

Blythe has also developed strong connections with the therapists involved with her caseload. She works collaboratively with them as part of a team, sharing information, communicating effectively, and working together to support each child’s individual needs and goals.

Dependable, caring, and always willing to lend a helping hand, Blythe is someone her team can count on. She consistently puts in the extra effort to support those around her, and her dedication makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the children, families, and team members she works with.

She takes initiative when the children on her caseload need additional support and is always willing to lend a helping hand to her colleagues. She has gone above and beyond by successfully opening services for children alongside new team members, helping ensure a smooth transition into services. Her dedication, reliability, compassion, and willingness to support both the children she serves and her fellow team members make her an invaluable part of About Play. ⭐️Meet our October Child Spotlight, Jaxson! ⭐️

Jaxson has been part of the About Play family since early 2024, and he has made tremendous progress since beginning his journey with us! He has shown significant improvement in his fine motor skills and has gained increased mobility in both of his arms. His determination shines through as he works hard to complete tasks as independently as possible, and he continues to demonstrate wonderful problem-solving skills along the way.

Jaxson is also an incredibly social and outgoing kiddo who loves meeting new people. He is always excited to introduce himself and make new friends!

We are so proud of all the progress Jaxson has made and the hard work he continues to put in. Way to go, Jaxson! Keep shining! 💚💙

⭐️Meet our September Child Spotlight, Vyla! ⭐️

Vyla has been part of the About Play family since June 2024, and she continues to amaze us with her growth and determination! She arrives at every family training session eager to learn new skills and ready to take on new challenges.

Recently, Vyla celebrated an exciting milestone by graduating from her OT and PT services in the Upstate! This fall, she is beginning another exciting journey at The Champion Center. Vyla has also been working hard on sign language and communication and has started saying many more words! She uses signs to communicate more effectively with her family, showing just how much she continues to grow and learn.

Vyla is truly a joy to work with and has a heart of gold. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and can’t wait to see what exciting milestones are ahead for her! 💚💙
