I get asked this every fall: is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party actually worth the extra cost?

For most families? Yes. Here’s how I think about it.

The party runs after regular park hours, typically 7 PM to midnight. You can enter as early as 4 PM on your party ticket. That’s several hours of noticeably lower crowds before the event even officially starts.

The character experiences during the party are ones you simply can’t get during regular park hours. Jack and Sally. The Seven Dwarfs. Characters in Halloween costumes that only come out for this event.

The Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is one of the best parades Disney has ever put together. Full stop.

And trick-or-treating throughout the park, with real candy at multiple stations, is something kids talk about for years.

Is it right for every family? Not always. If your kids are very young and won’t make it to 9 PM, the math changes. That’s exactly the kind of thing I help you think through before you spend the money.

But for families who can pull it off? It’s one of the most memorable things Disney does.

I didn’t set out to build a travel business.

I set out to build something that felt worth doing.

I’m a former Disney Cast Member based in Dublin, Ohio. I’ve spent years watching families arrive at those parks exhausted and overwhelmed and leave completely transformed. Families slow down. They’re actually together. The kids look up. The grandparents keep up.

I kept thinking: what if the trip could do more than create a memory? What if it could also fund something that matters?

I’ve almost never see a discount on a brand-new ship.

626 Day is Disney Cruise Line’s annual celebration (Stitch’s number, for the uninitiated 🧡) and it typically comes with a round of limited-time deals on select sailings.
