These women recently reached the end of their pilgrimage with us!

There is nothing quite like finally reaching the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela at the end of the Camino.

If you've done the Camino, what feelings did you have when you saw the Cathedral? Share below!

When you follow the yellow arrow on the Camino, you are joining over a thousand years of pilgrims who walked before you. 🐚

The pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela has existed as a Christian pilgrimage for well over 1,000 years. For most of that time, there were no trail markers at all; pilgrims simply followed in the footsteps of previous walkers, often seeking out other pilgrims and walking in groups for safety and support.

The iconic yellow arrows you follow today are actually a recent gift. In 1984, Father Elías Valiña — parish priest of O Cebreiro and a devoted scholar of the Camino — took it upon himself to mark the French Way from Roncesvalles all the way to Santiago, armed with little more than leftover yellow paint and a deep love for the Way. He passed away in 1989, but his arrows still guide every pilgrim who walks today.

Happy Feast of Our Lady of Fátima!

Did you know our Portugal Camino includes a visit to the Shrine of Fátima? There is nothing quite like honoring Our Lady on the very ground where she appeared to Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto in 1917.

May she walk with every pilgrim on the Way today and always.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers-may Mary, the tender Mother who accompanies every step toward Christ, bless you with peace and joy wherever your journey leads. If today finds you thinking of the Camino de Santiago, may your heart walk that same pilgrimage of gratitude, love, and hope-because every mother’s care is a quiet path of faith.

Small enough to fit in your hand. Profound enough to mark an entire journey. 🐚

The scallop shell has guided pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela for centuries. One beloved legend holds that after St. James was martyred in Jerusalem, his remains were carried by sea to Spain — and washed ashore miraculously covered in scallop shells. Its radiating lines are said to represent the diverse paths traveled by pilgrims, all converging on the same destination.

The shell is not only a trail marker along the Way. It is a sign of the faith you carry and a sign of the great journey you are undertaking.

Are you ready to carry yours? 👣
