We want to you to understand how/where we make our products, a little piece of our history, and what to expect from Memorabl3roberts. I (Blake) grew up in Brown County, Indiana with my parents owning a shop that was passed down from my grandparents. Being raised in Brown County gave me a great sense of heritage and an amazing am
ount of impression for rustic, homemade, and authentic handmade furniture. A more modern take on furniture with this lifelong history of rustic handmade goods helps give me my own touch and eye for a more modern/classic look that is truly one of a kind. We started building furniture for our apartment and when friends and family would come over we would always hear about the pieces we made and how it completely changed our apartment. We didn't sell anything for a while, we just wanted to have long lasting handmade furniture that was made exactly how we wanted. In the end we have decided to start selling and custom making furniture because it is what we love to do! When building or coming up with designs, a blueprint on a 3D program to get a solid idea without wasting materials is a great way to come about great pieces; but our favorite is to grab the tools and just start building. This is an art and we are making things that are memorable by building with imagination and curiosity. Most of the items that we sell are made from recycled pallet wood. We disassemble the skids by hand and sometimes with a saw (if the final piece allows). Every piece is made right in our two story apartment with hopes of one day moving to a brick and mortar store. Then we take each piece and separate it into sections for the item that is going to be built. After this we stain, sand, cut, and drill to the size and measures we need to build each piece. The final product will always vary somewhat because of the originality of each and every piece we create. When visiting our website, or Etsy shop I like to think of when you would have walked into my parents store in Brown County in the middle of fall; a family working as hard as possible to make their customers exactly what they wanted. Giving a country hospitality with a regal mentality; this is our demeaner and what we want to be seen as in the business world. There are many reasons why people try to start something up like this; we also work many hours a week and have three daughters; there is passion in this and that's what makes the difference.
