I remember this picture like it was yesterday! It was a hot day at Magic Kingdom, and we were in Tomorrowland wearing our tickets on our shirts. I had on my favorite terry cloth jumpsuit. In my backpack was my Sun visor that looked just like my Grandpa’s. We sat down for a minute to rest and my arm wrapped around his arm …..and click. Moment captured.

It’s been roughly 46 years since the photo was taken, but I still remember enjoying Disney World with my grandparents and parents. I couldn’t tell you what I got for my birthday or Christmas that year, but I sure can remember this precise moment in time! Priceless!

After replanning this August Hawaii trip (due to Hurricane Lala), I am now set to take off on an adventure in about 6 weeks with my husband! Replanning allowed me to add a much needed and wanted day to our 36th anniversary trip! It also gave me the opportunity to add more exciting options to this already amazing schedule!

Finding the right words for this update isn't easy. This trip has been years in the making and it is not easy to even type this. But here I am.
Hawaii has been at the top of my personal bucket list for as long as I can remember. After a year of meticulous planning and organizing every single detail, our departure was set for this Monday. If you know me, you know that traveling is a passion of mine. It is Friday and the excitement is building for us to leave Monday!
…and then ….
A rare tropical storm is currently forecasted for a direct hit on the Hawaiian islands early next week. While I am naturally heartbroken and disappointed to postpone this dream trip, my thoughts are first and foremost with the local communities preparing for severe weather and potential flooding. As a hurricane alumni from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I know firsthand how challenging severe storms can be.
As a dedicated travel advisor, this is where expertise counts!, It is time to reach into my travel file of past client and personal experiences and …..PIVOT! It is time to do what I know how to do! Replan this trip! While this short notice it is not ideal, this gives me the perfect opportunity to learn and adapt! Experiencing severe weather disruptions firsthand gives me even deeper insight into how to navigate crisis management, reroute travel smoothly, and advocate for my clients when unexpected events happen.
