Hi! Our names are Jenna and Samara, we’re 2nd year food science students and we are currently studying abroad for a full semester in Dublin, Ireland!

Because we’re here a full semester we get to really experience Irish and European culture. In this post we’ll introduce you to some of the cool stuff we’ve gotten to do so far!

First, our campus, University College Dublin. UCD is the largest university in Ireland. They have 6 colleges and over 100 majors. The campus is very nice and our dorm is amazing! They have apartment style dorms so we have our own kitchen and living room to share between 7 of us.

We’ve travelled to Dublin and the surrounding area quite a bit. We took a walking tour in our first week to get a good feel for the city where we saw some iconic Dublin sights like Dublin Castle and Temple Bar!

UCD put on a showing of the National Championship so we were able to watch the Buckeyes beat Notre Dame 🏈❤️🤍

We took day trips to Howth, a port town, and Glendalough, a monastic site in the Wicklow Mountains. The public transport makes it easy for us to get all around Ireland.

We’re taking advantage of all our time here and visiting other countries in Europe too! We went to London for a week and have big plans for our Spring Break!

That’s all from us for this takeover! Thanks for coming along on our journey to some historical Irish sites and for learning about this program! We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a full semester program! Feel free to reach out to either of us with questions!
