It is with a heavy heart that we accept the resignation of our Executive Director, Melissa. In her short six months with the Comanche Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, she brought fresh energy, creativity, and genuine care to our Chamber members, Comanche small businesses, and the Comanche community as a whole.
Melissa worked tirelessly to support and promote Comanche through initiatives such as Explore Comanche, thoughtful welcome baskets for new members, highlight reels showcasing our legacy businesses and members, and countless other efforts aimed at strengthening community involvement and Chamber engagement. More importantly, she approached the role with kindness, enthusiasm, and a sincere desire to serve the entire community.
Her impact in such a short amount of time has been significant, and we are grateful for the dedication and heart she poured into this position.
Melissa has also graciously agreed to help ensure our membership remains supported throughout the transition period, and the legacy member highlight projects currently in progress are expected to be completed over the next several weeks.
As we begin the search for a new Executive Director, our goal is to continue building on the positive momentum that has been created for the Comanche Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture and the many small businesses we serve. We encourage our community to support and respect those who step forward to serve in these roles. Chambers of Commerce often inherit perceptions and frustrations from years past, but meaningful progress can only happen when people are willing to work together constructively and encourage those investing their time and effort into positive change.
Melissa did not step away because the work lacked meaning or impact. In fact, the positive momentum created over the last several months speaks for itself. Community organizations can only thrive when those willing to serve are met with encouragement, professionalism, and constructive support.
As we move forward, we hope our community will continue to support not only the Chamber itself, but also the individuals who dedicate their time and energy to serving Comanche and its small businesses. The future success of the Chamber depends on creating an environment where people feel valued, respected, and empowered to make a difference.
During this transition period, any Chamber concerns, questions, or matters requiring additional attention should be directed to Chamber President Charles Laird at [email protected] so they may be addressed appropriately and professionally.
The Comanche Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture is actively seeking a new Executive Director. Individuals interested in the position may contact [email protected] for additional information.
We sincerely thank Melissa for everything she has done for Comanche and wish her nothing but success and happiness moving forward.
