VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE: based on your responses I have updated yesterday's post. PLEASE take a moment and read the answers below in their ENTIRETY since many of you continue to ask questions that are answered below:
1. JAMCOVID19 travel authorization - National or non-national, you are required to complete your JAMCOVID19 registration for travel to Jamaica until the pandemic spread has been contained. ALL JAMAICANS with a home address in Jamaica must register. We need to be able to contact you in the case of a COVID-related alert.
Registration has been simplified into a one step process - complete the registration and simply await approval. There will no longer be a "conditional approval" status. You can travel with a foreign passport or green card but you must still register at https://jamcovid19.moh.gov.jm
2. If you have registered and did not get your travel authorization email, the only reason for a delay would be if you did not fill out the Home Quarantine questions. This section is new- it was added in mid May. Please go back and log into the JAMCOVID19 website and you will see the status of your application and next to it a blue button to click and answer the remaining questions for your home quarantine. Once that is submitted, it will go back to pending status but will be approved within 48 hours.
If you are not clear on how to complete the registration, please email us at [email protected] or call at 202 452 0660 and we will assist you.
3. Non- resident Jamaicans visiting as tourists, business persons, tourists, all visitors to Jamaica staying in hotels, villas or Airbnb should register on a different site managed by the Ministry of Tourism at www.visitjamaica.com.
4. We will continue to post the flight schedules of all the airlines flying into Jamaica. Starting Monday June 15th, there are an average 6 flights per day to Jamaica. Southwest will not resume service until July 1st 2020.
5. Stranded Jamaicans outside of the USA - especially from Kuwait and Europe who have sent messages through this page, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade will assist you. Please email the Consular Affairs Department at [email protected] or call telephone: +1-876-469-4058
I continue to value your feedback.
