My Good People, here are the updates:
**DDT ZANZIBAR GROUPS 1 & 2:**
Our first group has officially arrived and is already experiencing the magic of Zanzibar! This is a REAL ADVENTURE. They’re hopping on and off of boats to different Islands and excursions, relaxing on beautiful beaches, touching the Indian Ocean, soaking up the culture, and even hanging out with the giant Tortoises. Zanzibar is definitely delivering the vibe.
For Group 2 leaving next week, here are a few VERY IMPORTANT reminders:
 Make SURE your passport has at least 2 blank pages remaining. This is CRITICAL. Without them, you WILL NOT be allowed into the Country. Check, and get to the State Department (if necessary), before we leave.
 If you tend to get seasick, please bring over-the-counter motion sickness medication. There are several different types of boat rides on this trip, and we want everybody comfortable and ready for the experience.
 Bring water shoes and/or flip flops.
 Be sure to have your charcoal pills or Imodium AD in case of diarrhea (different Country’s foods/drinks can upset your stomach).
 Bring face/wash cloths. Many foreign countries don’t use them.
 If you have allergies—bring your meds.
 Please remember: you're traveling to a foreign country. We're NOT in the United States. Things move a little slower (like WIFI), and the technology and systems may not be as advanced as what we’re used to back home. Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude will make the journey much smoother for everyone. This trip is about adventure, culture, fellowship, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Zanzibar is already showing out for DDT… and GROUP 2, WE'RE UP NEXT!

**TANZANIA & ZANZIBAR CHECK LIST:**
PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK ALL OF THESE THINGS BEFORE LEAVING: DOCUMENTS (Non-Negotiable Zone). If these aren’t right, the trip stops before it starts. Passport (valid 6+ months beyond travel date). Travel insurance (including Zanzibar mandatory inbound insurance). Copy of Tanzania Visa (or documents to obtain on arrival if applicable). Pen (for customs forms). Keep all of these docs/copies in a folder.
MONEY & FINANCIALS:
USD cash in $10s & $20s (NO $50s/$100s). Bills must be 2009 or newer (not torn). Credit/debit cards (notify bank before travel).
Small wallet + neck wallet for security. Tips envelope with name on it ($10/day guideline--$80pp for this trip).

**REGISTRATION ERROR ALERT:**
We continue to see errors on trip registrations, (especially passport issue/expiration dates and middle name omissions).THIS IS SERIOUS!! If your registration information is incorrect, you will not be able to board your flight or check into your hotel. When registering, enter your name EXACTLY as it appears on your passport, including:
• Full first, middle, and last name.
• Middle names or initials.
• Suffixes: Jr., Sr., III, etc..
No nicknames. No shortcuts. No guessing.

A QUICKIE FOR ZANZIBAR GROUP!!
**CURRENCY TIP – TANZANIA (READ THIS!)**
When traveling internationally, currency exchange can make or break your experience--if you’re not prepared. The current Exchange Rate in Tanzania: $1 U.S. Dollar (USD) ≈ 12,609 TZS (Tanzanian Shilling).
IMPORTANT LESSON: (From Our Ghana Trip): Large U.S. bills caused issues when exchanging money. $50 and $100 bills are NOT recommended! They often get lower exchange rates and some vendors may refuse them altogether.
WHAT TO BRING INSTEAD:
✔️ Smaller bills are KING: $20 bills and $10 bills.
✔️ Make sure your bills are clean (no tears, markings, or excessive wear) and printed in 2009 or newer (older bills may be rejected).
It's best to go to your Bank and ask your teller for newer money before you leave.

My Good People, here are the updates.
As we slowly evolve as an agency, we have a new DDT Logo. Please look for it while traveling.

**DDT ZANZIBAR & TANZANIA--May 8 and 22.**
We're 3 and a half weeks away from Group 1 departing (and 5 and a half weeks from Group 2)--and THE EXCITEMENT IS BUILDING!
Everyone should have received an email from Ying today with the itinerary and "Things to know before going". Let me know if you didn't.
Please read the info and dress accordingly. Also, please be sure to bring a soft bag (back pack or such) for when we go on the Safari. You can put the things you need for the next day in there. The Concierge will keep our BIG Luggage (and it can be hard shelled) while we're away that day.

**DDT PAYMENT CLARIFICATION:**
(READ THIS SO WE DON’T HAVE CONFUSION LATER )
The amounts shown on the flyer are NOT the total cost of the trip. They represent the amount that should already be in your account by that date.
Example — Italy :
Total Cost: $3,500pp (Double).
Flyer showed: $2,500 due by April 1st.
* That means you should have had $2,500 PER PERSON already paid in your account by that day.
* Singles: Should have $4,050 in your account
Final Payment Deadline: June 1st.
Bottom line:
We’re tracking progress toward payoff, not restating the full trip price. If anything still looks fuzzy, don’t guess—reach out to me directly so we keep everything smooth and nobody loses their spot.

**GATE 1 MIXUPS:**
We’re running several trips with Gate 1 this year and next. They’ve rolled out a new confirmation process for traveler information and trip details that's been problematic.
Here’s the issue: We’ve encountered multiple system glitches—including duplicate emails and incorrect financial information being sent out.
I’ve already addressed this directly with Gate 1, and they’ve acknowledged the problem on their end. They're actively working with me to fix it.
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU:
If you received an email that includes ANY financial information (wrong deposit/trip amount), FORWARD IT TO ME IMMEDIATELY.
Please let me know whether you viewed it on a phone or computer.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
✔️ If your personal information is correct—go ahead and confirm it.
✔️ If something is missing or incorrect—(new passport, misspelled name) let me know. I'll work with you directly.
This process will help eliminate the flood of duplicate emails and keep everything running smoothly on our end.
BOTTOM LINE:
This is a new group policy rollout—and yes… it’s been a headache—but we’re getting it under control. Keep in mind, we PAY THEM MORE to have exclusive CUSTOMIZED DDT Trips with no other people riding with us. So, you will be with your DDT Family ONLY--Not hanging with Bob and Karen from West Bubble Bump. Let me know if something is still off with their emails.

**DDT AND AIRFARE:**
DDT typically DOES NOT book airfare for our trips—and here’s why:
1) Flight prices are based on "AVAILABILTY" at that moment. They move like the stock market—up, down, and all around. The moment we lock in a group rate, we’re locked in. If prices go up, that’s a win. But if they drop, complaints roll in. We prefer to avoid that rollercoaster altogether.
2) You may be able to get a better deal using your own points or rewards. Many of our travelers leverage airline miles and credit card perks to save significantly—and we want you to have that flexibility.
3) Booking on your own gives you more control and convenience. Oftentimes, you can depart from your home airport instead of taking extra positioning flights to hubs like JFK—saving you additional time, money (an additional flight and possibly a Hotel stay), and hassle.
That being said…we always do our best to support/accommodate the DDT Family. For example, I checked today’s pricing on Delta Airways for our multi-city trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar:
• Atlanta multi-city flight: $4,177.
• JFK flight: $4,039 (and takes longer to get there). Both options are using Kenya Airways on the outbound—just like our group flight.

I know it’s always a lot of information—because DDT stays MOVING. But, PLEASE…at least read the info for the trips YOU are on. I’m getting hit with questions about things I literally just sent out the week before. Taking a few minutes to review the information will help everything run smoother for everyone. **DDT 2026 IS COMING IN HOT:**
In just 7.5 weeks, we kick off another BIG year of Dancin’ Doug Travel (DDT) taking Hundreds of our travel family across the Globe. We're going to see some of the most unforgettable destinations on the Planet. First up: DDT Tanzania & Zanzibar in May with TWO (2) SOLD OUT groups of 65. Then it’s back home to Atlanta for our 6th Annual Legendary DDT Family Reunion/Casino Royale "ALL BLACK" Weekend in the first week of August. After that, it’s DDT ALL ITALY in late August with THREE (3) SOLD OUT groups (42 each). Then we head "Down Under" to Australia in September, and, if all is back to normal, we’ll wrap the year up in Egypt in October. That’s North and East Africa, Europe and Australia. One year. One travel family. One unforgettable run.

**TANZANIA/ZANZIBAR VISAS:**
We just received the last of the e-Tickets (for Group 2).
Ying and Jada will begin distributing them to you all this week. She'll send an email to everyone under separate cover indicating when the ZOOM meeting will be taking place to go over the process. Be on the look-out for her email. Keep in mind, there are no mandatory shots needed for this trip, so just be ready to see East Africa in all of it's WONDER!!

**DDT 2027 ITINERARY:**
I'm happy to announce that we're SOLD OUT on our first 2 trips of 2027. Our Northern Europe Trip in March (Germany • Switzerland • France • Austria) just SOLD OUT. Then came Tokyo in June…Not one trip. Not two. Not three. BUT FOUR DDT JAPAN TRIPS--ALL SOLD OUT. The demand was so crazy we had to add a FIFTH (5th) Japan trip with our partners Travel Junkees. This will allow more of the DDT Family to experience Tokyo • Hakone • Kyoto with us. It's the same itinerary. Same price.
Now the spotlight moves to our next adventure…DDT SOUTH AFRICA 2027:
Cape Town. Kruger National Park Safari. Johannesburg. We only have 15 rooms (30 spots total) and most of them were reserved within the first few days. DON’T SLEEP ON THIS ONE. The flyer and Layaway Plan will be posted on the website this week.
DDT 2027-THREE CONTINENTS: Europe. Asia. Africa (PLUS our 7th Annual Casino Royale weekend--And I'm still working on the Caribbean Family Reunion!!) The DDT Family ain’t just traveling... WE’RE TAKING OVER THE WORLD.

**TRAVEL DATES — PLEASE READ:**
Just to clear up some confusion about our trip dates: The date listed for a trip is ALWAYS the day you DEPART the United States. It's NOT the day you arrive. For example: If the South Africa trip date is listed as November 4-13, that means you depart on November 4th--NOT November 3rd. Most of our International flights are overnight, so you will usually arrive the next day. In this case, you would arrive on November 5th, and that becomes the first day of the tour.
So remember: Trip date = Departure date from the U.S.--Arrival is usually the following day. If you have any questions before booking your flights, please contact me: 678-602-9813. We want to make this process as easy as possible for you.

**DDT TRAVEL VENDORS:**
PUH-LEASE. Let’s clear this up once and for all. We use different vendors for different destinations. Each one is its own kingdom with its own rules, contracts, and accounting systems. They do not share payments or money...AND ONCE WE PAY THEM--THEY KEEP THE MONEY--WE NO LONGER HAVE IT. Remember; each has different venue expertise--and we select the ones which give us the best rates and experience.
Just so you see, here’s a list of the different vendors who we’ve worked with in just the last two years:

Each vendor handles their own payments. That means:
• You cannot move money from one trip to another.
• You cannot transfer a balance between vendors.
• You cannot apply/split one deposit to different destinations. They need to be separate.
It’s not a DDT rule. It’s how these companies contractually operate. Once funds are paid to a vendor, they stay in that vendor’s system and we can't get it back for you.
I know plans change. Life happens. Calendars flip. But the cleanest solution is simple: Purchase Travel Insurance. Travel insurance is the safety net under the trapeze. If something unexpected pops up, that policy protects your investment far better than trying to shift payments between completely separate companies. So with love, respect, and a passport full of stamps. Please stop asking to switch payments between trips/vendors. They don’t do it. Let’s keep moving smoothly so we can focus on what we do best… collecting Bucket-list moments all over the Planet.

Trip Update!
**DDT EGYPT 2026 IS BACK ON!**
GRRRRRRR When I say they don't know WTH they're doing--I mean it!
They put Egypt on the "Don't Go" List on Monday--and as soon as I sent out the Newsletter yesterday saying we're going to put it on pause--THEY TOOK EGYPT OFF THE LIST!
The reality is, it shouldn't have been put on in the first place! Be that as it may, Egypt is back in active status, and I'll continue to monitor the happenings of this idiotic war of choice!

**DDT CASINO ROYALE & FAMILY REUNION WEEKEND: August 7-9, 2026:**
The Full Weekend Experience is here!: This is where the magic begins. This Summer our weekend will start with: Friday Movie Night at Club Zanzibar ("Harlem Nights" is the Feature Film this year). It's Popcorn and Crunch & Munch for me. Our BBQ during the Day is on Saturday (its catered). It's "Casino Royale Night" (All Black) on Saturday night. The theme is all about Luxury, Sophistication, and Fun. We're bringing the energy of a high-end Casino night to the DDT Family again! Sunday: It's Southern-style Church for some and Farewell hugs, before everyone heads home.
This year (2026) we're BACK at the BIG Pine Log Pavilion in Conyers! The Pavilion sits less than half a mile from the Hotels (you can walk) and only 2.5 miles from the house, making it the perfect gathering spot for the entire DDT Family. There’s plenty of room for music and dancing, and space for everyone to laugh, reconnect, and enjoy good food as we have BIG Fun for the weekend. The Pavilion is so large that the celebration continues rain or shine.
The DDT Family Reunion is our time to reconnect, laugh and share stories. The friendships formed through DDT trips around the world come together in one place for a weekend of joy and fellowship. Wear one of your old DDT Tee Shirts to the Park. Expect great food, good music, and the kind of energy that only happens when the DDT Family gets together.
Casino Royale Night: When the Sun goes down… the elegance begins as we head back to Club Zanzibar. Our Casino Royale Night transforms the evening into a stylish James Bond–inspired Casino experience filled with glamour, excitement, and high-energy vibes. We'll dress in ALL BLACK-or-formal attire (we're upping our Fashion game this year) as we step into an upscale Casino atmosphere featuring classic games (we'll give you $20,000 in play money to enjoy) and unforgettable moments.
Expect: Casino tables and gaming fun. Elegant ALL BLACK attire. Music, Cocktails (the Coconut Sangria will be flowing) and Fun Dancing. The Photo moments will capture unforgettable memories. **DDT EGYPT 2026 IS ON PAUSE:**
Due to the new war of choice in the Middle East, Grrrrr, Egypt has now been added to the list of countries that the U.S. has stated to abstain from visiting. For clarity, Egypt is located in North Africa — not the Middle East — but it has been included in the restriction because of the regional conflict.
As a result, we're placing the Egypt 2026 trip on pause for now while we monitor the situation. The reasoning behind the war has been changing daily, and is somewhat chaotic, but things could change quickly. The conflict could end soon, or the restrictions could remain in place for awhile. At this point, we simply need to wait and see how events unfold.
The good news is that we still have several months before the trip, so there's time for the situation to resolve itself. If, as we get closer, Egypt is still considered unsafe or remains on the No-Fly list, we will issue 100% refunds to everyone on the trip. WE NEVER PUT OUR FAMILY IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. We'll keep everyone informed as we receive updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

**DDT ZANZIBAR & TANZANIA I & II--E-TICKETS**
We just received the E-Tickets for the first group. We should have the tickets for the second group by the end of the week. Once we receive them all, we'll send them out under separate cover. When everyone acknowledges receipt of their ticket, we'll set up a zoom training for completion of the Tanzania visas.
Also, please plan to arrive at the airport early, as the flights depart in the early afternoon (around 1:00 PM). For those traveling from outside the New York area, it may be a good idea to stay overnight near JFK the night before the flight. Many nearby hotels offer free breakfast and complimentary airport shuttle service, which makes getting to the terminal much easier on departure day. It also removes the stress of same-day flight delays and cancellations.
We’ll plan to meet at the Kenya Airways check-in counter at JFK before departure. I'm looking forward to ANOTHER incredible journey together.

**DDT JAPAN 2027 CONFIRMATIONS – Trips I, II, III & IV (Plus Trip V!)**
I’ll begin sending out the confirmation forms this week for the first three DDT Tokyo trips. I’ll most likely get to Trip IV sometime next week. Just so everyone knows, we also now have a fifth trip on deck for those who still want to join us. As always with DDT…no one gets left behind.
The vendor requires at least one person in each room to confirm that the names listed match your passport exactly. That includes middle names. If there is a change from what was on your registration form, they are charging $50 to amend it--so be sure it's correct. When you receive the confirmation:
• Simply verify the names and check the boxes.
• We're NOT purchasing airfare or insurance through the vendor, so you can just check those boxes accordingly.
• Ignore any balances listed on the form. The vendor does not manage your individual accounts. We send them one group payment from Dancin’ Doug Travel (DDT).
Once these confirmations are completed, everything will be locked in and we’ll be all set for Japan 2027.

IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR: I'm happy to announce that we're welcoming Briana and Jada (my 2 Granddaughters) into the fold. Briana has always helped with the Summer Madness shirt orders and Admin work. She's now taking on a larger role with the company. Jada has already been assisting her Mom (Ying) and is ready to really get her feet wet.
