Join us tomorrow to help remove invasive weeds from the Gulkana River!

COPPER BASIN - Hop on a raft with us next week, Thursday, July 23 for the Floatable W**d Smackdown on the Gulkana!

A total of 20 people may participate in this FREE raft trip down the Gulkana River with Copper River Guides to manually remove invasive white sweetclover from the river’s banks and sandbars. Meet us at Gulkana Bridge, then we'll shuttle to Sailor's Pit together.

CRWP will provide trash bags, hand tools, gloves, life jackets, and dry bags for participants to use. Please be sure to pack your own snacks, water, and proper clothes for possible wind, rain or direct heat with limited shade.

WHEN: Thursday, July 23, 1:00 pm

This is a Community W**d Smackdown event open to 20 participants willing to tackle white sweetclover along the river where this prolific invasive is crowding out native plants and clogging up sand bars and areas along the banks of this salmon passage tributary of the Copper River.

This event is for those interested in working hard with a fun group to manually pull white sweetclover while floating on the river enduring the elements for a day. Fingers crossed for sunshine! ☀️

One of our frieds (friend/guides, it’s a work in progress) is climbing Denali (!!!!!) this spring and could use a little support to reach her goal. This gal is old school tough, a super hard worker and has spent years preparing for this. Just think how cool it’s gonna be to be sitting in a raft floating down the river this summer listening to her story about summiting Denali (weather and conditions permitting, we dont want to jinx anything.)

Must-haves: CPR/first aid certification, adaptability (our season is short but full on and doesn’t follow a typical work schedule), responsible, self-motivated, and excellent people skills. Boating experience is a plus.
