Shouldn’t the City of Coral Gables help subsidize the World Cup at Fritz and Franz since they have not planned anything? Seems like they should help foot the bill if they are going to require all this extra police & fire. A fair affordable price could be charged to the restaurant and the City could cover the rest as good will and to have a public place for people to watch the games and enjoy themselves.
Ok, now we have downsized to 20 days for World Cup Public viewing events on the Plaza, Now the city tells us Police fee has almost doubled. $ 100 per hour per Officer. 4 hours minimum even if it is only one game. and three officers and one Sergeant ( $120) per game! And on top of it also for the first time in 24 years, we need to have Fire rescue present $ 680 per game! so, with my math skills and I am old school....for 20 Days it would run us into $ 70,000! I think the city is not giving up until I am gone.... They tried 2 years ago and now they are trying this way! They killed the Bluesfest, Live Music on the Plaza and Oktoberfest! Now they are working on the Public viewing events for World Cup , Euro and Copa Events! Not asking for help, not asking for petition to sign, just Your thoughts!
