My mom and I have officially arrived in Amsterdam! 🇳🇱

We’re spending a few days here before boarding Holland America and sailing through Norway and Denmark — and I’m so excited to experience these destinations with my mom.

So, what does “out of the office” actually mean for me?

If you’ve ever worked with me, you know how responsive I am when I’m home. Most days start around 5:30 a.m. and don’t end until 9 p.m. Owning a travel agency doesn’t always fit neatly into office hours.

When I say I’m out of the office, it simply means I’m stepping away from being attached to my computer all day so I can actually experience the destination I traveled thousands of miles to see.

Because travel is also part of my job.

I want to walk the neighborhoods, stay in the hotels, sail the ships, eat at the restaurants, learn the transportation and experience the ports firsthand. That knowledge comes home with me and ultimately makes me a better travel advisor for my clients.

It also means being present with the people I love. This time, I get to experience it all with my mom, which makes this trip even more special.

So yes, you’ll see me traveling. You’ll see me “out of the office.”

But there is a whole lot of work, education and intention behind every one of these trips.

First stop: Amsterdam. 🤍

My mom and I are off to Amsterdam Tuesday night. ✈️ We’ll spend three nights there before boarding Holland America Line on Saturday, September 12, for a very special Top Producer trip cruising to Norway and Denmark. 🇳🇴🇩🇰

I know you all see me traveling to Italy all the time, but fun fact: I’m actually more Norwegian than Italian. I just happen to have a very deep love for all things Italy. 🤍 So I’m especially excited to experience this part of the world — and even more grateful that I get to share it with my mom.

This trip is such a special recognition of top travel advisors and all of the work that goes into what we do. I really want to embrace the experience, be present, and enjoy this one without being attached to my phone and computer 24/7.

And while it may sometimes seem like I’m always traveling, experiencing destinations firsthand is such an important part of my job. I go, I learn, I experience — so I can better advise you when it’s your turn to go. ✈️🌍
