Monday Musings… What's on our work desk?
One of the things about owning a small business is that every now and then, you wonder if the clients will keep coming.
We've had an incredibly busy six months at Across the Sky Travel, but I'll admit, there's always that little voice in the back of my head wondering what's next.
But then I remind myself that I have a really good team, and we're pretty darn good at what we do! As long as we keep living up to the expectations we set for ourselves, I think we'll be just fine.
I'm especially proud that 100% of our business comes from repeat clients and referrals. That's pretty amazing when you think about it. Our clients trust us enough to come back and, even better, recommend us to their friends and family. We don't take that honor lightly.
So, what makes us special?
I think it's pretty simple. We listen.
As travel advisors, we all have our own travel styles, favorite destinations, and ideas about what makes a great trip. But what I might love about a destination or a particular hotel might not be what YOU love. And that's okay!
You want luxury? We'll find it. Adventure? Absolutely. Museums, history, food, and culture? We're all over it. A beautiful beach, a good book, and absolutely nothing on the schedule? We can do that, too.
It's not about planning the trip we'd like to take. It's about planning the trip YOU want to take.
So, what's on our desks this Monday? (And yes, that's my actual desk in the photo. A little messy, lots of empty and full folders, and quite a few destinations in the works!)
Japan and South Korea for a young adult traveling solo. Venice followed by a Mediterranean cruise for longtime clients. Paris, Paris and more Paris! We seem to be sending lots of people to Paris these days, and I'm certainly not complaining.
There's a trip to Las Vegas to see a show at the Sphere, Italy and Greece for a mother-daughter adventure in January, Scotland and Ireland for returning clients, Caribbean cruises bringing families and friends together, and Costa Rica to escape the midwinter blues for our clients who just returned from Paris last Monday!
And that's just what's on the desk today!
The fun part is that every one of these trips started with someone saying, "We'd like to go…"
And we take it from there.
Some trips are simple, some are complicated, and some require a whole lot of research and juggling to make everything work. But that's what we do, and we really do enjoy it.
So, back to work this Monday, feeling grateful for our clients, our referrals, and the fact that we get to do something we love.
