Hello Travelers,
Beginning January 8, 2025, all US citizens traveling to the UK will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). You can begin applying for one on November 27, 2024.
Please see this link for helpful information on the ETA, and where to apply: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta -can-apply
An ETA must be applied for online in advance of any travel to the UK, including Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
Travel beginning on January 8, 2025 will require an ETA.
US citizens with a valid passport can begin applying on November 27, 2024. Everyone traveling needs to get an ETA, including babies and children.
An ETA will be linked to the traveler's passport and will last for two years or until the traveler’s passport expires – whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you will need to get a new ETA.
Travelers will be able to make multiple journeys of up to 6 months within those two years.
An ETA will cost £10 (British Pounds) and each traveler will be required to hold an ETA.
Travelers already in the Republic of Ireland will need an ETA to travel to Northern Ireland.
