Everybody gets excited when there's a new turtle nest--and it looks like this one has an extra special guardian keeping watch.🐢🐎

Our tour guide extraordinaire, Cheryl "Shorty" zoomed in for this special shot on her tour yesterday.

It's Turtle Season here in Corolla, and the perfect time to mention the importance of making sure you refill any holes that you dig, and to deconstruct any sand art that you might create. Use caution and obey the speed limit on the beach and of course, maintain at least a 50-ft space between you, the horses, turtle nests, and all of the amazing creatures that we share this beach with.

Update:
And a gentle request/reminder from our friends at N.E.S.T. (Network for Endangered Sea Turtles) to please turn off as many evening lights (inside and out) as you can to assure safe passage for our turtle friends.
