Happy Tuesday, friends! Here's a photo from Dave Rike who was flying at Seaside Park in NJ a few weeks ago!
If you've been following along for a few weeks, you know that we've been releasing OPK* collections and yesterday's release was a big one.
First of all, we want to thank everyone who is entrusting us with your collections to sell. We've been very lucky these last few years, with collections that take our breath away. The number of times that we've said "WHAT! I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THIS KITE, AND IT'S PRISTINE!" is shocking. We are honored to be entrusted to find new homes for your treasured collections.
Second, a huge thank you to everyone who is showing up for the releases. You're finding treasures and then bringing them to their new homes to be flown again. We're hoping to see tons of photos of old treasures being flown again!
The last collection we've got right now is power kites ranging to smaller kites (think 1-2 meter) and as large as 11 meter. We'll be releasing those in the next week or two, once we've had a chance to learn more about them and figure out fair prices for them. Admittedly, most of these kites are larger than what we normally sell, so we want go make sure we've got our facts straight before listing them.
After the power kites, we'll be taking a break from OPK* for a month or so. And then we'll revisit OPK* in the fall, with at least two known batches of kites coming our way after labor day. That said, we've got a lot of OPK* in the shop so after a few more releases in the fall, we'll be taking the cold months off from OPK* and start it back up in the spring.
If you're thinking about sending kites our way, now is a good time to start thinking about it for next spring!
Well, that's already too many words for most people's attention spans, so with this we say.... see you tomorrow!
*OPK is other peoples kites. Also known as "previously loved" or "consignment".
