ACTIVITIES: Back to the Nineties Retro Arcade in downtown Corvallis: I have been wanting to try this place for a long time but we finally made it happen this summer and with the rain coming, I wanted to give you all another option!
Retro Arcade is open:
Tuesday-Friday 3pm-9pm
Saturday/Sunday 12noon-9pm
It’s $15 per person all day so you can come and go all day if you’d like. There are no coins or cards to play - one flat fee to play as much or as little as you want.
We went for a bit then took a break for lunch then went back for more to get our money’s worth. They have a whole room of pinball machines, an area to play Sega/Nintendo/Super Nintendo and of course, 90’s arcade games.
They have a variety of snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for purchase too.
We saw multiple parents working while their kids played so if you don’t plan on playing, you don’t have to pay.
If you want a date night, they have an “After Dark” night for 21+ every Friday 8pm-midnight $10/person starting next week.
Pros:
- Lots of fun games to play
- Fun to introduce some old games to my kids
- Great rainy day activity
- Right downtown so lots of food options if you need a break
Cons:
- It can add up for a family but if you can extend the time, it’s worth it
Bathrooms:
- nice clean bathroom on site - I even took a picture of it because it’s so cool
Parking:
- Street parking: metered right in front but if you park around the corner on 4th, you have 3 hrs free
