Ch*****ne in the Masai Mara, Kenya. 🥂

Okay, so technically it wouldn’t be considered Ch*****ne. We know.

But when you’re in one of the world’s most celebrated wilderness destinations, there’s reason to celebrate.

So sparkling w**e made using the traditional method will work just fine for us.

Happy Friday! 🥂

Can you stay in your gym routine while on safari? At Ishara Mara, absolutely.

Between the game drives, incredible dining, and drink stops, we understand that many of you still want the option to exercise and stay in routine while traveling.

For Kyle, Ishara Mara impressive bush gym, Nordic spa, and riverside wellness area were considered highlights we wanted to show you.

In fact, Kyle described it as “the best bush gym I have seen yet.”

Take a look around with Kyle.

Leah’s advice for Ishara Mara? Leave enough time in your itinerary to properly enjoy the lodge itself.

Set along the Talek River in the Masai Mara, Ishara is somewhere Kyle and Leah felt deserved more than simply the hours between game drives.

And this pool area is a perfect example. Peaceful, surrounded by birdlife, and a wonderful place to slow down for a few hours.

Perhaps even (dare we say it) skip an afternoon game drive and enjoy having the lodge largely to yourself.

When a property is this considered, making time to actually enjoy it should be part of the safari experience.

Leah’s advice for Ishara Mara? Leave enough time in your itinerary to properly enjoy the lodge itself. Just look at this pool area!

If your volume is up, you can hear the birds and just how peaceful it is here.

Certainly a place to enjoy between game drives. Or possibly (dare we say it) for an entire afternoon while everyone else is out on drive.

Sometimes, staying behind isn’t such a bad idea.

Co-founder and Travel Specialist Leah Green taking a quick moment from Kenya to speak with an Ubuntu traveler about their next safari.

Even while Kyle and Leah are traveling, experiencing lodges, and revisiting destinations firsthand, the conversations with our travelers continue.

Designing a safari doesn’t simply wait until we return to California. We genuinely enjoy connecting with each traveler, talking through the details, and understanding how they want their journey to unfold.

Every Ubuntu Travel safari is personally designed around your pace, priorities, and travel style, from the iconic wildlife experiences to the quieter moments in between.

Founder-led. Thoughtfully paced. Tailor-made from start to finish.

“The guides are very intentional. They’re not going to be one of those vehicles that stresses the animals. They’re going to go and find something else.” — Co-founder Kyle Green

It was a powerful reminder that even in one of East Africa’s busiest safari destinations, the quality of your guide can have a huge influence on the experience.

At Ishara Kenya, that meant respecting the animals, reading the situation, and knowing when it was better to move on rather than add pressure to a sighting.

That philosophy left a real impression.

A freshly brewed espresso while watching hippos in the Masai Mara? Yes please. ☕️

It was one of those small but memorable touches during Kyle and Leah’s stay at Ishara Kenya.

Enjoying a proper espresso beside the river, with hippos just below, was a wonderful example of how Ishara seems to push the experience that little bit further, both at the lodge and while out on safari.

Not a big moment. Just a beautifully considered one.

Turn it up. A pride of lions roaring in the Masai Mara, Kenya. 🦁

Arguably one of the best sounds to hear while on a safari game drive.

And take a look around. Not another vehicle in sight.

Another example of the intention and professionalism behind the guiding experience at Ishara Mara. Knowing where to go, when to move on, and how to create space around a wildlife sighting can make all the difference.

Something quite special. A sundowner with homemade pizzas in the Masai Mara, Kenya! 🍕🍷

Over the years, we’ve enjoyed some incredible drink stops on safari, and the teams behind our tailor-made journeys certainly know how to pull out all the stops.

But this one at Ishara Mara was particularly memorable. Homemade pizzas, sundowners, and the wide-open Masai Mara landscape stretching out around us.

Best of all, it felt completely private. No crowds. No rush. Just time to enjoy the setting and let the evening unfold.

Truly special.
