In just two months in Georgia, the Covington Fall Festival gets underway in the iconic downtown square of one of the state’s most historic towns! On Saturday, October 17, Covington Square will close to vehicle traffic and turn into a pedestrian-friendly festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can spend the day browsing local vendors, enjoying food, listening to music, and checking out the non-profit fair while children have plenty to keep them busy. Games, face painting, a petting zoo, and Touch-A-Truck are all part of the 2026 lineup, including bucket truck rides that give riders a higher view over downtown.
The setting makes this festival especially fun. Covington is famous for its long film history, and the downtown area was transformed into Mystic Falls during all eight seasons of The Vampire Diaries. Around the square, visitors can also find Covington’s Walk of the Stars, with more than 30 pavers tied to movies and television productions filmed in the area. Between festival activities, you can explore the surrounding shops and restaurants, making this an easy fall day trip with food, family fun, local shopping, and one of Georgia’s best-known small-town settings.
