Come to the refuge to celebrate the 122nd anniversary of the National Wildlife Refuge System with cupcakes, cookies, and lemonade on Friday, March 14, between noon and 2pm.

On March 14, 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt established Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge as the first National Wildlife Refuge. There are now more then 570 refuges.

Besides enjoying the treats (provided by the Friends of St. Marks Wildlife Refuge), the Nature Store will offer a 10% discount on purchases over $60 dollars (pre-tax) and the Historic St. Marks Lighthouse keeper's quarters be open 11 am until 3 pm.

So come celebrate with us and enjoy the natural beauty of your refuge.
