Kick up your heels and join us for a good old-fashioned Town Barn Dance- THIS Saturday September 5th at 6pm
Led by the renowned dance caller Andrea Earley Coen, returning to Creede by popular demand, each night features a nostalgic mix of traditional social dances including square dancing, contra dancing, two-step, and more. No experience? No problem! Andrea will walk everyone through the steps, and the focus is on fun, and community, not perfection.
This event features live music provided by Colorado old time, bluegrass & country musicians Jake Loew (fiddle), KC Groves (mandolin), Donny Chavez (guitar), Gene Libbea (bass) & Creede’s own Avery Augur (banjo). And joining us as a last minute addition, CMAC fiddle favorite Ryan Drickey.
Held at the beautiful Stables at the Rio Grande, this summer series is open to dancers of all ages and abilities, year-round locals, summer residents, and visitors alike. Come early, grab a seat, and get ready to dance the night away!
Light refreshments will be available for purchase on-site.
Ticket Prices:
• Kids 12 & under – Free
• Teens (13–17) – $10
• Young Folks (18–25) – $20

At Headwaters Music Festival, we met a family who told us they’d heard about the Bachelor Loop, decided to see it for themselves and made the trip to Creede.

This historic drive is a destination all its own!

If you’re headed our way for Labor Day weekend, add a trip around the Bachelor Loop to your list. Take in the views, explore Creede’s mining history, and enjoy the stops along the way.

Then head back into town for Salsa Fiesta and make a whole Creede day of it.

The Race is on! The Creede Mountain Run, established in 1987, celebrates the end of summer and the beginning of fall in our little town. This event offers participants the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking San Juan Mountains on a 2, 12, 22 mile, or 50K course.

Online registration for the 22 mile and 50K is CLOSED (no day of registration) but in-person registration is available for the 12 mile and 2 mile run/walk at the Chamber/Visitor Center this week and at the Start/Finish line on Race Day.
