🦭 Two ADORABLE elephant seals -- Kenai and Denali -- were released back into the ocean in Crescent City, California. 😍 We are so proud of the amazing work that the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center does here in Del Norte County.

Shout out to Joshua Harper, a visitor from eastern Kentucky who rode his bike along the California Coastal Trail (CCT) from Tijuana, Mexico, to Crescent City, California.

His road cycling journey spanned 30 days, 1,113 miles, and 57,217 feet of climbing.

He originally planned to continue to Seattle, but after experiencing the Redwoods and hiking Stout Grove in Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park, he decided to conclude his trip here, in Del Norte County, California (sorry Seattle!).

He felt that anything following the majestic presence of the Redwoods would be a letdown and wanted to end his journey with that memory.

Joshua is a timber cutter by trade. He noted that as he looked around Stout Grove, he realized he was seeing more log feet in those living trees than he had cut in over 14 years of work.

We are delighted that Joshua stopped by our Crescent City-Del Norte County Visitor Center to share his story.
