Exciting news today…we finally have electric at the homestead? What a great feeling it was to turn on the lights. Even better news is that the hot tub will be up tonight too! The Mothership will be ready for rental as soon as Wednesday. Please look for more information within the next day or two.

What a great few days at Glamping Homestead.

We’ve been busy working on the inside of the Mothership. We’ve laid flooring, hung a door, and decorated, and decorated, and decorated!

We’ve a few things yet to do:

1) have the local power company plant poles and string lines to get power to the dome,

2) lay some concrete to support our hot tub,

3) assemble the chimney for the wood burning stove.

We are hoping for a late June opening. Fingers crossed!

Nothing much of note happening in the Mothership today. Just a lot of tightening the tent covering and making sure everything is lined up for ceiling liner and floor installation tomorrow and Sunday.

We did walk a lot of the property today and found a deer skull and bones. Any hunters out there ready to book a week!

THE MOTHERSHIP is ready to take off!

What a day. We finished the frame, laid the thermal layer, got the cover on by ATV and 100 foot rope, and finally cut and installed the window. Tears were shed, both from pain and with joy.

We cannot wait to finish this off and then see what happens.

When we tell people we are building a dome in the treetops we often get puzzled looks. Others ask if they can see what it looks like so we pull up examples of other domes that are our inspiration.

Today we can actually show you pictures of the Mothership! Though not yet in dome form. But that’s today’s project. Check back later to see if we accomplished our daily goal.

Lots of progress made today. Cleared lots of weeds, built a shed (temporary toilet facility) and started to build a bridge

In the last picture you can see how the property is beginning to take shape. And if you look straight ahead into that picture, you’ll see the future of development.

One step at a time though and today was a great first step.
