Huge news for Crystal River! I’m excited to announce the Plantation Resort has been sold and the transaction officially closed this afternoon. The city has worked with the new buyers over the last few months, and there are great things to come.
The new owners will invest a substantial amount of money to refurbish the hotel, and also the golf course. There are exciting plans to improve the golf course, the driving range, and club house. The golf course will become a destination in and of itself.
On the hotel, they will invest a substantial amount of money to refurbish, remodel, and improve the hotel structures.
IN ADDITION, the new buyers will be making an announcement in the near future, on exciting news of a large nationwide hotel brand that will manage and operate the resort. It will be big news, and take this property to the next level!
The Plantation Resort has a long and storied history in Crystal River, and this will ensure that continues. Once reopened, the resort will bring hundreds of jobs, and offer our residents and visitors a first class resort experience, in the city, from land and water!
I want to personally thank all those that are involved in this transaction, I am truly grateful for the investment in our city. I am excited to see the Plantation return to greatness, these are very exciting times for Crystal River.
