Lots of big snook hanging around Yankeetown! This one measured at 38 1/2! Not a fish I typically target during the summer months but always a fun surprise fight and like I always say…. Hold on tight!

The inshore bite was pretty amazing on today’s trip! Some of the best I have seen since having the serious drought. Fish were where they were supposed to be and they were hungry! First cast started us off with a 39 1/2 snook landed in the boat followed by nice upperslot redfish and tasty black drum. These fish were schooled under a mat of glass minnows and mullet. We spent two hours of catching in the first spot of the day. We then ventured off to find some spoons bills where they were hidden deep in the mangrove trees and captured some wonderful shots for Michael’s photography. All while trying out two new spots hooked into some more massive redfish, black drum and sea trout. The tide slacked off and the water temps jumped as the sun warmed the surface so we called it a day and headed back to the dock.

We recently had the opportunity to take out our sponsor hog fishing. The seas were anything but calm but I knew that once we got to the spot we were going to make quick work of some awesome hogfish and head back to the hill. First drop, huge hog! Second drop, huge hog! Third drop, another nice hogfish! Steve was amazed that I knew exactly where to stop to find the nice, keeper hogfish we needed for some good content as well as fresh hogfish dinner! We rounded off the day with the biggest ones being ate by a shark called it a day and headed in with more than enough in the box. It’s always a pleasure to have companies in the industry aboard the boat so they have the opportunity to experience what we get to experience everyday fishing out of Yankeetown, Florida!

Not the best photo because of the sun beaming down on my gps however the weather module is crucial when out fishing especially without phone service. I utilize this tool way more than the radar on my boat. This particular day was two days ago when we were riding in and I knew I didn’t have to stop and tell my crew to put their wet weather gear on. We were in the clear. At all times I am operating with the absolute best technology on my boat to ensure the upmost safety of my clients as well as myself. My second boat, has starlink to provide internet service while out fishing for those who need to make important calls and return immediate emails. and myself are constantly trying to upgrade our fishing chartered services to bring the best quality fishing trips as well as convenience and safety to our clients. Our goal is to operate in a 5-star capacity at all times. Because we spend more of our time on the water than we do on land, we have experienced some of the most treacherous weather conditions unimaginable while being out on our own time. These experiences have taught us how to make smart choices based on predicted weather, incorrect predicted weather 🙄 and how to handle and operate our vessels should emergencies pop up. I’m sharing this because this is something every person should think about when booking a fishing trip, both inshore and offshore.

Safety has to always be number 1!

I had the hog daddy’s on the boat today 😝 They understood the assignment….. hogfish for dinner and that is exactly what they did! We hit 3 spots before heading back in ahead of the storms rolling in again from the east. I was ready to make the run to my good hogfish grounds but realized that the weather had other plans for us. So we stayed close and hammered down on them. A few quick practice drops on the first spot all while teaching them the technique paid off for the second and third spots we fished today. Had a hiccup with my trolling motor so had to catch them while on the anchor. “Old school I guess” Everyday these fish amaze me more and more! They are there, and better yet I don’t have to dive down there to find them 😎

Another great day with the villages crew! Short, sweet and to the point before the storms rolled in. It’s always hard to leave when the fish just keep eating the baits we drop but safety comes first and had to head in before the storms built on the shoreline where we had to drive to so we could make it home.
