It was nonstop action and nother fantastic day on the water!!!
I had some kids that were putting the smack down on trout, mackerel, and black sea bass all day.
We were missing an older sibling and a mother that checked out early; before I could get the picture.

We started out our half day trip; letting the wind take us; to where the fish are. It was quite a bumpy ride at that. We started drifting with the outgoing tide and the strong wings were a challenge at first, but Ward and his wife quickly overcame those issues, and started putting trout in the boat. We had 8 quality speckled trout, and one sandy.
Boy what a bumpy ride back into that blowing wing; wishing I had been in my bay boat today.
Of course we fed the, Pete’s Pier tarpon the scraps.

So today started with a lot of wind; that never really settled down. We started out shallow, on the out going tide, and made a long drift. We were catching a fish here and there; which produced 3 solid keeper trout.
I decided to make a quick call to a friend, to see how the bite was doing a little deeper, and he said it was not bad, so we decided to run out and see for ourselves.That decision produced out other 7 keepers; along with some bonus fish.
Knowing the water would be pretty low, I decided to get an early start on the redfish, but that came with a little wait for the tide to bring in the fish. Once the mullet showed up, we quickly got a good upper slot red in the boat; after that just a couple missed hook ups with the redfish.
Well as you know there’s always that time of day, where we head in to clean fish, and enjoy hand feeding the tarpon.

I had a great time today; with my clients experiencing the gulf waters for the first time today.
We started trout fishing on the out going tide; catching a few here and there, and allowing them to get acclimated to the way we target fish.
As the tide turned the trout bite got bettter and better.
Once the trout bite slowed, as we were seeing lots of keeper fish avoiding baits, and getting a short trout here and there. We decided to switch to redfish, for about and hour. We caught several shorts and one keeper, they were happy with their haul, and called it a day.
