What a beautiful day here in Crystal river. Our day started off this morning with a bang, well actually a lot of bangs. I picked up my client David and his family at 8am from the plantation, when we got out to the gulf the tide was extremely low. We literally bumped and bounced along to every redfish spot. For those of you who don’t know the red fishing is absolutely amazing here in Crystal river when the tide gets low. It concentrates our redfish into “pools” or “holes” on the flats, at that point they become very easy to catch. Today was no exception, we were throwing a jig head with shrimp and that was the ticket. Our largest red measured in at 30in, we landed about 15 more with the average being around 24in. We ended up keeping three of the smaller reds for dinner at the .82.dining

All around we had an amazing day, honestly it’s hard not to here on the flats of Crystal River.

This is the only way to start your day here in Crystal River. I had the pleasure of fishing this morning with two of my buddy’s from
I had the legend .j.wulff aka Don and his friend Brian on the mud boat this morning. The morning started a little slow but after the second spot we found a nice school of upper slot Reds, with a little patience we were able to land a hand full of beautiful fish. Both guys were able to pull two over slot reds out of the school with a handful of slot fish for the grill.
We are always living large here in Crystal River

Scallop season is almost over!!! The season ends September 24th, and we still have some days open!! Even though this season has been a little tougher than past seasons we are still finding them. Scalloping is always a fun time to spend with family and friends out on the Gulf, book your trip with us today!!

This is a great photo to show how small they can be when they are young and how big they can be full grown. The smallest one we have found this year was the size of a dime, and largest one was the size of your palm!
