It’s fall and the trees have our full attention!
Phyllis Hain, Volunteer Consultant for the Cullman Tree Commission, stated: “As my mom would say, they are just ‘showing out,’ flitting around in the cool breeze, all dressed up in yellow, orange, and different hues of brown.”
The Cullman City Tree Commission has seized this opportunity to enjoy and promote the wonder, beauty, and the natural value of Alabama’s during the upcoming holiday season. What better way to pay attention, than to declare the month of December as a time to feature the iconic Christmas tree with a festival of its very own?
The Cullman Tree Commission, under the leadership of Chairman Barry Slatton, has gained the support of all schools in the City of Cullman as well as Cullman Parks, Recreation, & Sports Tourism (CPRST), Cullman Rotary Club, Cullman Savings Bank, Frazier Christmas Tree Farm, and many others offering up their assistance to make this a joyful and memorable community event.
The schools have agreed to take on the challenge of transforming a 7 ½ to 8 foot freshly cut, Alabama grown Murray Cypress into a joyful presentation of creative art! School staff and students will select a theme, and then coordinate their talents to create a unique display that best compliments their chosen theme. The decorated Christmas trees will be exhibited for all to enjoy at the Cullman Wellness & Aquatic Center (CWAC), located at 1636 Field of Miracles Drive SW in Cullman.
The is FREE and will be open to the public for viewing during CWAC regular business hours. Display begins Sunday, December 3, 2024. Viewing hours are Sunday 1 pm to 6 pm, Monday-Friday 4:30 am to 7 pm, and Saturday 6 am to 5 pm.
The Cullman Tree Commission and the Cullman Wellness & Aquatic Center cordially invite everyone to come by during this Christmas season to enjoy the 2023 Festival of Trees! Our hope is for it to bring all of our citizens a sense of community, peace, love, and joy.
