My friend’s daughter, Sudiksha, a University of Pittsburgh student and U.S. resident from Ashburn, VA, has gone missing while on a spring break trip in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

She was last seen on March 6, 2025, at 4:50 AM on the beach at Riu Republica Resort and has not been heard from since.

💔 We urgently need help from U.S. officials to ensure Dominican authorities prioritize the search. Please help us bring her home safely!

Do you suffer with Endometriosis?

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month.
It took me seven years to get a diagnosis.

Seven years of being unable to walk, going from orthopedic specialists to neurosurgeons, convinced that something was wrong with my bones or nerves. Seven years of misdiagnosis, pain, and unanswered questions—until in 2023, my physical therapist put all the symptoms together and said, This isn’t your bones. This isn’t your muscles. This could be endometriosis.

I was shocked. Like many, I had always associated endometriosis with painful periods. And yes, as a teen, my periods were excruciating. But after my first child was born, that pain disappeared. What I didn’t realize was that something else had started. After my son was born in 2015, my legs began to hurt. By 2016, I started limping on certain days of the month. Over time, the pain worsened. I became completely immobile during parts of my cycle. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t turn in bed. I couldn’t urinate without pain. I couldn’t have s*x without pain.

Symptom by symptom, my life changed.

When I finally told my OBGYN what my physical therapist suspected, her response hit me hard: Why didn’t you come to me earlier?

A laparoscopy confirmed the truth—my uterus was clean, but my entire pelvic cavity was covered in scar tissue. They removed as much as they could and put me on hormone suppressants that mimic menopause. While the treatment helps, I still live in pain. During ovulation and menstruation, I lose mobility. I need a walking stick on certain days.

Endometriosis is not just a painful period.

It is a chronic, incurable disease that affects every part of life. There is no cure—only options to suppress hormones and manage pain.

If you’re experiencing unexplained pain, please advocate for yourself. Keep pushing for answers. No one should have to wait seven years to be heard.
