Well everyone after much deliberation and discussion we unfortunately have made the difficult decision to postpone Crank Up Curtis this Saturday Aug 10. Mother Nature just doesn’t look like she wants us to be in the water on Saturday.

We are not giving up on the south lake just yet. We are planning on rescheduling it for Labor Day weekend just don’t have all the details ironed out yet but within the next day we will announce the date. Just wanted to get the word out that we will not be there this weeeknd. Don’t give up just yet we’re gonna do all we can to make this a huge event!

We can’t thank our sponsors enough for all their help in this event. Hi! It’s time to (re)introduce ourselves! We are the Bra-wler Clan owners of 1 of 3 rentals. The cozy Curtis cottage originally started out as a fishing resort built in the 1930s but was eventually split up and renovated multiple times. In the early 1990s my parents, two teachers looking for some respite from the school year, purchased the cottage. My brother and I spent our summers fishing, swimming, playing home run derby and coming up with “interpretive” dances when the weather was subpar. Family and friends piled in, camped out, and shared some of the best memories at the cottage. In 2020 my parents decided it was time for them to fully embrace retired life and they decided to put the cottage up for sale. After a lot of talk, moving of finances and laughter my brother, his wife, myself, and husband decided we would become joint owners of the cottage and keep the legacy alive! With a background in real estate and property management my husband, , worked his magic to get the cottage ready to be rented out during the times we are not up enjoying it as a family. Our first rental took place in the late summer of 2020 and we haven’t looked back since. We have learned a lot and are so appreciative of all of our guests that enjoy our home away from home as theirs.

Fast forward to 2024: the cottage has a new deck, improved dock and still the best sunsets 🌅. Our “Braw-ler” bunch now includes 8 members. The little ones are enjoying their summers Lake Side just as much as my brother and I did some 30 + years ago.
