You probably won't know the moment a family tradition begins.

It may just feel like another vacation.

Another picture in front of the castle.
Another character hug.
Another inside joke that makes absolutely no sense to anyone outside your family. 😂
Another “we HAVE to do this again next time.”

And then there is a next time.

The kids are a little older. The vacation looks a little different. Some of the things you loved last time don't matter quite as much anymore—and somehow, completely new favorites take their place.

Years later, you look back and realize those weren't just a collection of vacations.

They became part of your family's story. 💜

That's the funny thing about traditions. Sometimes you don't recognize the beginning until you're already several chapters in.

💜 Sometimes a family tradition starts with one trip.

And the funny thing is... you probably don't know it's happening when it begins.

You don't come home from vacation and announce, “Well, I guess we have a family tradition now.” 😂

You just remember how much fun you had. You start talking about going back. Maybe the next trip looks completely different because your kids are older, your family has changed, or you've discovered a whole new part of Disney that you love.

And then one day, you look backward and realize Disney has been there through a whole lot of chapters.

That's what this week's episode of The Magic Between is about.

I’m sharing a little of my own family's Disney story—from the trips I took growing up, to taking my own kids, to realizing somewhere along the way that Disney had become more than somewhere we vacationed.

✨ Before We Turn the Page...

All week, we've talked about planning.

About making the decisions that matter.

About letting go of the ones that don't.

About remembering that the countdown and anticipation are supposed to be part of the fun too.

But before we turn the page on this week, there's one more thing I hope you'll remember:

Leave a little room for the magic you didn't plan. 💜

Plan the vacation.

Choose the resort.

Make the reservations.

Figure out the things that matter to your family.

But don't plan so tightly that there's no room left for something unexpected to become part of the story.

Because some of the moments you'll remember most won't be on the itinerary.

They'll happen in between everything you planned.

A conversation you didn't expect.

A character interaction that goes completely off script.

A little hand reaching for yours.

Everyone laughing over something that wasn't supposed to happen.

Or simply looking around at the people you're with and realizing...

This is the part I want to remember.

We can spend months planning where we're going and what we're going to do when we get there.

But we can't plan exactly who we'll be in that moment.

We can't know which tiny experience will become the story everyone tells years later.

And we definitely can't predict all the ways our family's story will change between one Disney vacation and the next.

That's why I believe in planning enough to make room for the good stuff...

and then leaving a little space for Disney—and life—to surprise you. ✨

Because sometimes the magic you never planned for becomes the part you treasure most.

And really...

that's what The Magic Between has been about all along. 💜

✨ Review It Sunday — but today we're reviewing the BEST part of planning.

You know that moment when a Disney vacation stops feeling like something that's months away...

and suddenly starts feeling REAL? 💜

Maybe it's when you finally choose your resort.

Maybe it's making that dining reservation you've been talking about forever.

Maybe it's picking your Disney Cruise Line Port Adventures.

Maybe it's buying the matching shirts. 😂

Maybe it's when the MagicBands arrive, the suitcases come out or someone in the family starts an official countdown.

Or maybe it's the moment you finally get to tell everyone where you're going.

This was how we surprised our family with the news that our next adventure would be a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Treasure.

Plans eventually changed a little—as family plans sometimes do. 😂 But this moment?

This was when that next Disney adventure suddenly felt REAL. 💜

Those are some of my favorite planning moments.

Because they aren't really about reservations or itineraries.

They're the moments when anticipation starts turning into memories.

So for today's Review It Sunday, I want to know:

✨ Things I absolutely do NOT need to overthink at Disney… but will anyway.

We've spent all week talking about not letting planning steal the magic.

And I stand by that. 😂

But there are some Disney decisions I will happily devote a completely unreasonable amount of brainpower to.

Like...

🎀 Which ears am I packing?
Because obviously the outfit matters.

🍿 Which snack deserves the stomach space?
There are only so many snacks one person can eat in a day, and I take this responsibility seriously.

👟 How many pairs of shoes do I actually need?
The answer is probably fewer than the number that will end up in my suitcase.

🎆 Where do I want to watch the fireworks?
Do I need the “perfect” spot? No. Will I still have opinions? Absolutely.

🍽️ Which dining reservation makes the cut?
Because somehow narrowing down Disney restaurants can feel like choosing a favorite child. 😂

And let's not even discuss how long I can stand in a gift shop deciding whether I actually need something.

Spoiler: I probably don't.

But here's the difference.

These are the decisions I enjoy thinking about.

They're part of the fun for me.

And maybe that's actually the secret to all of this.

Spend your planning energy on the things that make you excited about your vacation.

Let somebody else help carry the things that don't. 💜

🚢 Resort Stay Saturday — Disney Cruise Line Edition

When you're choosing a Disney Cruise Line stateroom, it's really easy to assume:

More expensive = better.

But that's not necessarily true.

The best stateroom is the one that fits how your family actually cruises.

Disney Cruise Line's main stateroom categories give you some very different options:

🛏️ Inside — No exterior view, but often a great choice if you plan to spend most of your time enjoying the ship and primarily use your room to sleep, shower and get ready for the next adventure.

🌊 Oceanview — You get natural light and a view of the ocean without stepping up to a verandah. This can be a really nice middle ground for families who want to see outside but don't necessarily need private outdoor space.

☀️ Verandah — Your own private outdoor space. Morning coffee while pulling into port? Watching the ocean go by before dinner? Sitting outside after everyone else is asleep? For some families, that verandah becomes one of their favorite parts of the cruise.

✨ Concierge — More than just a different room category, Concierge adds another level of service and amenities to your Disney Cruise Line vacation.

And here's the important part:

I wouldn't automatically recommend the same one to every family.

Some families are barely in their stateroom.

Some know they'll use that verandah every single day.

Some would rather put more of their vacation budget toward Port Adventures, specialty dining or another night or two of cruising.

There isn't one “best” stateroom category.

There's the one that makes the most sense for your family, budget and way you want to vacation.

Figuring that out is a much better use of your planning energy than worrying about which category somebody on the internet says you have to book. 😉

🚢✨ The Disney Believe is officially taking shape!

Disney Cruise Line just shared a new update on its newest ship coming in late 2027—and today marked a pretty big construction milestone.

The first of three massive sections, called gigablocks, has been completed and floated out at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany!

Think of building a cruise ship like putting together an enormous 3D puzzle. Each gigablock is built with things like walls, plumbing and wiring already inside before the giant sections are eventually joined together.

And this first section?

It includes the midship area of the Disney Believe, including the Grand Hall. 😍

But Disney also gave us another little peek at what we can expect onboard.

The Disney Believe will feature new venue concepts and entertainment experiences inspired by some pretty fantastic Disney stories:

✨ Encanto
❄️ Frozen
🍎 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
🌊 Moana
🧜‍♀️ The Little Mermaid

And Disney says they'll continue sharing behind-the-scenes looks as Imagineers, artists and entertainment teams bring the ship to life.

Considering how much I love watching a new Disney ship go from concept art to an actual ship we can eventually step aboard... I will absolutely be following this one. 😂💜

The Disney Believe is expected to begin sailing in late 2027, and there is still SO much more for Disney to reveal.

✨ Every Disney family has a different vacation personality.

There’s the person with the spreadsheet.

The person who says, “Just tell me where I need to be.”

The one who wants to ride EVERYTHING.

The one who is perfectly happy sitting on a bench with a snack.

And then there’s the person who swears they aren't really a character person...

until the right character walks into the room. 😂

This particular morning, that character was Tigger.

Jeff has always loved him, but looking back through these pictures, what I noticed wasn't just Jeff.

Every single one of us was laughing.

Different interactions. Different personalities. Same table. And Tigger somehow brought out the fun in all of us. 💜

That's part of why I don't believe there's one perfect way to plan a Disney vacation.

Maybe your family needs every character meal we can fit into the itinerary.

Maybe your teenagers want thrill rides and couldn't care less about meeting Mickey.

Maybe Mom wants the spreadsheet and Dad doesn't want to know what's happening until breakfast.

That's okay.

Your vacation should leave room for the things that make your people light up.

Not the things someone else's TikTok, Facebook group or “perfect Disney itinerary” says you're supposed to care about.

Because sometimes the best part of planning isn't deciding what everyone should do.

It's knowing your people well enough to make room for the things they'll love. 💜

✨ Pro Tip Friday: Schedule some NOTHING into your Disney park days.

Yes. Nothing. 😂

One of the easiest things to underestimate when planning a Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort vacation is just how physically demanding a park day can be.

Most of us don't spend a normal Tuesday walking miles and miles, standing for long stretches, climbing on and off attractions, carrying a park bag and doing it all again the next day.

At Disney?

We somehow expect ourselves—and our kids—to do exactly that for days in a row. 😂

That's why one of my favorite planning tips is actually to leave some space in the plan.

Maybe that's an afternoon back at your resort swimming in the pool.

Maybe everyone takes a nap.

Maybe you grab a snack and sit somewhere in the shade for a while.

Maybe you head back to your room, change shoes, cool down and return to the park later.

Or maybe you simply have a stretch of the day where nothing is scheduled and you decide what sounds good when you get there.

That time isn't wasted.

Rest can be part of the vacation too. 💜

And sometimes giving everyone a chance to recharge means you enjoy the things you do have planned a whole lot more.

You don't get bonus points for coming home from Disney completely exhausted. 😂

Plan the fun.

Plan the things that matter.

And plan a little breathing room too.
