It started here. 🐘
1980 — Magic Kingdom. My very first Disney trip. My brother Kevin and I on Dumbo — paper park tickets around our necks, no idea that this little flying elephant was about to become a thread that would run through my entire life.
2008 — Same ride. My daughter Kayla waving from her elephant, her sister Alexis beside her. My son Jeff — a teenager who was absolutely certain he was too cool for Dumbo — somehow ended up on it anyway. 😂 Robert napping in his stroller nearby - first trips are exhausting.
2015 — Craig and Kayla. Robert and Alexis in the elephant behind them.
2016 — Craig and Robert. Me grinning like a fool taking the selfie.
Now 5 decades later. One ride. The same magic every single time. Seriously the views are amazing from Dumbo.
Some things at Walt Disney World are worth doing no matter how old you are — or how cool you think you are. 😂
This is my origin story. If you're on my email list the full version of The Magic Between landed in your inbox yesterday. Not on my list yet? Drop a 💜 in the comments and I'll send you the link.
