Sorry about no posts for a long time.

Back in September we had a WICKED power steering leak which took quite a while to fix and was expensive. Along the way we found issues in the fuel tank and the house batteries needed replacement. So we were out of commission for probably 3 to 4 months.

Then came the holidays, the snow birds, and now the coronavirus which have furthered hampered our trips in the RV.

Hopefully all of this will pass soon and we can be on the road again. We're really missing those smokey star filled nights.

Everyone take care, stay safe, and we hope to be able to share some more glamping stories soon.

In glamping mode. All loaded and ready to start the next adventure. Headed back to the Withlacoochee River Park for our longest stay so far (5 nights). Looks like the weather is going to be a bit chilly for Florida but that should make it.feel more like glamping. Looking forward to sitting around the fire and playing some corn hole. Happy Glamping!!

It's getting to be about that time for another road trip back to Withlacoochee River Park . Had planned a trip a few weeks ago, but Hurricane Irma closed the park. Anyway, glad we weren't there for that adventure. Now we're planning on the next trip, but this time for 5 nights which will be our longest adventure yet. Looking forward to pressing the longer trips and how we handle it both physically, mentally, and emotionally. Here we go!!!!

Got some new shoes for the RV. Looking good!! Hope to take them off soon for the next glamping trip. Life is good!!

Adventure #5 is in the books!!!! Had another great adventure back to Withlacoochee River Park in Dade City. A very peaceful place to just unwind and spend time with friends. The park had a complete ban on fires or flames of any kind. So we weren't able to have the campfire to sit around and tell stories about each other. But we were able to play a few games of Co****le to get the competitive juices flowing.

We weren't even able to use our propane grill so we had to decide whether to use our stove or do something else. It was an easy decision to do something else. So the first night we prepared a taco bar at home and just heated it up at the glampsite. The 2nd night we decided to use our air fryer and make fried chicken. We used crushed chicaron for the covering to watch our carbs. Came out great and will do that again.

Always nice to have friends (Mike, Ron, & Lou) drop by to see how we were doing. Lou even invited us to stop by his farm and see the horses and meet the rest of the family. Becky loved seeing and petting the horses and I wasn't sure we would get her away.

It really was a nice trip with Cindy Woods, Ken Oldrock Woods, Tom, and Judy. The only problem with this trip was it was too short. Already thinking about the next trip and where we can all go and spend more time than just a couple of days.

Sure do enjoy the glamping. Life is good!!

Adventure #4 was a success. The RV drove perfectly and handled the dirt road into the Withlacoochee River Park with no issues. This was the first time that we stayed 3 nights consecutively and no one threatened to kill the other one. The park is a state park located just outside of Dade City and was very nice and peaceful. Cost was only $25/night, so you couldn't hardly beat that. Luckily we had some friends go with us in their trailer that had been there before and could show us the short cuts into the place and easilly find our assigned spot.

There was a lot of friendly competition between the men and women while we played "pass the pigs" and "hand-n-foot". The girls were almost unbeatable at pass the pigs, but the guys were able to save face by pulling out a come from behind victory in hand-n-foot.

There were a number of trails to walk so Becky and I ventured to the observation tower and checked out the surroundings. It was a nice walk and lots of people on the trails with their families because of the great Florida weather.

There was a small chapel located in the RV section of the park and Cindy offered to let us renew our vows, but we decided to better leave well enough alone.

More friends came on Sunday and we had a great cookout. Everyone pitched in and the food was great. For dessert, we had some of the best apple pie that i'd ever tasted. We'll have to get the secret reciepe from Dan someday. If this is how you eat when glamping, then we need to do a lot more glamping.

So overall, it was a great trip and ready to venture longer and further. Hopefully we'll continue to get to travel with friends and meet more along the way.

Trip # 4 coming up. Will be venturing on our own for the first time without our mentor Tom but will be taveling with a couple of other seasoned traveler Ken & Cindy so the stress won't be too bad. It won't be our furthest trip away from home, but this will be our longest adventure, 3 nights!!! We're getting a little better each time, but there's so much to learn on these coaches. But meeting the folks along the way and doing this with friends make it a great adventure. More after the trip begins!!

Trip #3 was this last weekend (10/14/16) and we ventured out a little further. We went up to Plantation Recreation in Lady Luck, FL up by Ocala and the Villages with our friends Tom & Judy. Traffic was a little heavy getting up there, but the practice was needed.

The place was actually nice and was a good way to spend the weekend. Had never thought much about going to the Villages, but on Sat night we went to Sumter Square and Spanish Springs Square. At Spanish Springs they were having an antique car show and there were a lot of great cars to look at. At Sumter Square they have a band on Sat evening and it sure draws a crowd. Everyone was really having a good time and if you wanted to get up and dance, no matter what your skill level was, it was welcomed. This was really an enjoyable evening listening to the band and watching the people and it didn't cost a thing.

Hopefully we'll be back there again someday.

I guess as with any RV, it seems like there were a couple of small issues that we'l have to have looked at before the next trip out. But that just goes with the terriory.

The trip back hom on Sunday went well, but it seemed like everyone on Interstate 75 thought they were Nascar drivers and needed to drive 90 miles an hour, change lanes every 50 feet, and a couple of times I think one or two tried to bump draft us. Becky only screamed one time on the way home when some truck swerved over into our lane a little with his trailer. So I think we're improving.

Thanks for checking on us and we hope to make the next trip before Christmas and head up to SC and that will be our furthest adventure yet.

Trip # 2 was only to Treasure Island for the 4th of July, but it was an opportunity to drive again and look for more kinks that needed to be worked out.

The trip overall went well and we're looking forward to trip #3
