Lake Martin is a 44,000-acre lake with 750 miles of shoreline, which is more shoreline than the coast of California! Lake Martin, at one time, was the largest known man-made Lake. What keeps the Lake so clean and gorgeous is that the river coming in does not go through any big cities, so there are no polluted waters, and of course, we do not throw trash in it. Lake Martin has often been among the top 10 best lakes in magazines. Recently, Southern Living made us #11 out of 20 for best southern beach towns, plus #2 for best lakes in Alabama, and #6 best in the south

Lake Martin has many popular attractions, including eagle nests, natural sandy beaches, restaurants, camping areas, and popular islands. The Lake has several landmarks, such as the Kowaliga Bridge and marinas. Still, the most recognized landmark on the Lake is Chimney Rock, a large rock formation that resembles a chimney. Chimney Rock is located several hundred yards away; the formation that most people call Chimney Rock is Acapulco Rock. The area was the Tallapoosa River gorge before Martin Dam was built, and the water is more than 150 feet deep. The spot is visited by thousands of boaters yearly, who park in front of "The Rock" to watch people climb up 60 feet and jump off into the water.
Lake Martin is a popular recreation area for swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, camping, golfing, and hiking.
LET ME START by introducing myself; I am Shellee Smith, owner and host! My husband, Jared Smith, builds boathouses on Lake Martin JSC Docks. I run his office and our STRs (short-term rentals). We work, live, and play here. He has been a local for 30+ years, and I have since 2019. WE LOVE THE LAKE! When booking our place, you get a person, a host who loves what she does, not a management company. I have been a Super Host and Premier Host since 2019 on Airbnb & VRBO. Our place was listed on both Airbnb and VRBO, but with all the fees they charge the guests and us hosts, we took them off and now only offer Direct Booking.
**That '70s Kottage on Sunset Dr. sleeps 8, 3 bed/1 bath + hot water private outdoor shower, two adult queen-size bedrooms on the main floor, and upstairs loft for kids/teens, four twin beds. Lake Front has a dock and mooring whips for the boat. Pet free
1 mile or less from the Union Public Boat Ramp.
We also wash ALL LINENS off each bed each time! It's crazy that some think it's okay to leave comforters on and not clean them.
We also provide all TP. Our place is on a septic tank, so they require special TP. I gladly start the bathroom with three rolls, but if you need more, please inform me at least one hour/day before you need it.
We start you off with a roll of paper towels; there are plenty of trash bags and dishwasher detergent.
Parking is limited to two spots only (please reach out if you think you need more; we might arrange that if proper notice is given)
Check-in is 4 pm Central Time, and check-out is 10 am.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! Our place is off Centerport Rd, the same road Chucks Marina/Pizza is off. A self-serve gas station is on the corner of Centerport and Lakeside Fuel. It's excellent for gassing up your boat.
10 mins and you get to the intersection of hwy 50 & 49, right before you have a Dollar General, then at the intersection you have two more gas stations where you can find adult drinks, wine, and they each have a small liquor section.
Also, El Burrito's Mexican restaurant is attached to the side of one.
In 15 minutes, you have Niffer’s restaurant; in 17 minutes, you have Oskar's restaurant; and in 25 minutes, you drive into Still Waters, where you have The Newly remodeled and under new ownership Prime Steakhouse restaurant on the golf course and Bluffs floating bar at the Still Waters Marina, along with the NEW LANDING location there as well.
18 mins, and you have Jim's Pharmacy at the Lake
Right past Stillwater's entrance is the NEW strip mall with the Lake Martin Grocery store!!!!
20 minutes on hwy 49 and you get to the intersection of hwy 34 & 49, where there is Nirvana Latte, Twice Baked, Lake Martin Pizza, 34 Market, another big Dollar General,
Turn up at hwy 34, and you go to Martins Sports Pub and Holiday Shores Store/bait shop
Keep on Hwy 49, and within 25 minutes from your rental, you get into the downtown area of Dadeville, several boutiques, shops, restaurants, fast food chains, Renfroe's grocery store, and Walgreens
35 Minutes from the place, and you are on the backside of Auburn University
