Day 2 – Hello, London! 💂‍♀️
Nothing makes you feel fancier after an overnight flight than walking into Heathrow arrivals and seeing a driver holding a sign with your name on it. This is the kind of thing I set up for my clients, and I can confirm it hits the same when it’s for me. 😌

We dropped our bags at The Royal Horseguards. It’s an absolutely stunning property, and in a super convenient location. Then we did a little wandering, trying to learn the area and also stay awake!

At 3pm came the Borough Market Food Tour, also known as three hours of “I couldn’t possibly… okay, one more bite.”

Favorite bite: fish and chips with salt and vinegar
Most surprising: sticky toffee pudding

We ended the night with a Thames Uber Boat ride to see London all lit up. ✨️

Day 1 – Wheels Up ✈️
Two flights, one all day layover, and a 6:35am departure from JAX that I booked myself, so I have no one else to blame. 🙃

First stop was Nashville, where I met up with the other half of this girls' trip. We made some cute goodie bags for our flight crew, and then we took the overnight flight to London with British Airways.
Advisor tip: on an overnight transatlantic flight, the extra legroom is worth every penny if you can afford it. Your knees will thank you!

A resort can be the most talked about, the most recommended, or the most popular online… and still not be the best choice for your trip. ✈️

“Popular” does not always mean:
✅ best for your budget
✅ best for your travel style
✅ best for your family
✅ best location
✅ best atmosphere
✅ best overall fit

In some cases, the most popular resort may be:
🏨 more crowded than you want
🔊 louder and busier than expected
🚶 larger and harder to navigate
👨‍👩‍👧 geared toward a different kind of traveler
💰 more expensive without offering what matters most to you

That’s why choosing a resort is about more than picking the name you see the most.

The better question is:

One of the most common travel misconceptions is thinking “all-inclusive” means the exact same thing everywhere.

It doesn’t. ✈️🌴

“All-inclusive” is a category, but every resort defines that experience a little differently.

At one resort, “all-inclusive” may cover:
✅ meals, ✅ standard drinks, ✅ a few non-motorized activities, and ✅ basic entertainment.

At another, it might also include:
✨ premium dining, ✨ top-shelf drinks, ✨ room service, ✨ airport transfers, ✨ kids’ clubs, ✨ water sports, ✨ gratuities, and ✨ more included amenities overall.

And then there are things that may not be included, depending on the property:
❌ excursions, ❌ spa treatments, ❌ premium restaurants, ❌ upgraded alcohol, ❌ private experiences, and ❌ certain activities or services.

That’s why comparing all-inclusives based on the name alone can be misleading. Two resorts may both be “all-inclusive,” but the actual value and experience can feel very different.

This is also where a travel advisor can really help — not just by finding an all-inclusive resort, but by helping you sort through the details so you know what you’re really getting.

Because the goal is not just to book an all-inclusive.

Travel Tip Tuesday:
When the rain starts at a theme park, a lot of people automatically head for the exit.

But that is not always the best move. ☔

Sometimes the smarter strategy is to adjust, not abandon the day.

A few practical ways to handle rain at the parks:

✅ Pack ponchos ahead of time
They’re lightweight, easy to carry, and usually much cheaper before you arrive.

✅ Shift to indoor attractions, shows, or shops
Rain can be a great time to knock out experiences you might have skipped otherwise.

✅ Use the rain to your advantage
Some guests leave or pause, which can sometimes improve wait times in certain areas once the weather passes.

✅ Take your meal break strategically
If the rain looks brief, it may be the perfect time to sit down, rest, and wait it out.

✅ Think about comfort
Wet shoes and soaked clothes can change the mood fast, especially with kids. A change of socks, sandals, or quick-dry gear can help a lot.

The goal is not to pretend the rain is fun.
It’s to know that a rainy park day does not have to be a wasted park day.
