Yes, I know you’re asking AI about your next trip. Honestly? Keep doing it!

AI is great for the early part of planning. Gathering ideas, comparing destinations, figuring out what kind of trip you’re in the mood for, even helping with packing lists. If someone comes to me with a whole list of ideas already, that actually helps.

Where I come in is knowing the little things AI can’t always tell you. Which hotels are really worth it, which room categories I’d choose, what’s changed recently, where the location may not be as good as it looks online, or what I can add through my partnerships.

Use AI for the ideas. Then bring them to me and we’ll turn them into the actual trip :)

Big news for train lovers! England and Wales finally have their first luxury sleeper train, and it was worth the wait.

The Britannic Explorer is Belmond’s newest train and has three-night journeys through Cornwall, Wales or the Lake District. There are only 18 suites onboard, so it’s a really small experience.

There’s a botanical bar in the observation car, wellness suites, and time built in to get off the train and actually explore along the way. Depending on the route, that could be coastal walks, wild swimming or time in the lakes.

The food is a big part of it too, with menus by Simon Rogan of three-Michelin-star L’Enclume.

I also love that some of the routes are scheduled back-to-back, so you can combine them and make a longer trip out of it without having to keep changing hotels.

Definitely one to plan ahead for since there are so few cabins!

Five places that almost don’t feel real:

Iceland: black sand beaches, lava fields, and glowing blue ice caves.

Namibia: towering red dunes in one of the oldest deserts in the world.

Bolivia: the Salar de Uyuni, where the salt flats can turn into a perfect reflection of the sky.

Antarctica: endless ice, incredible wildlife, and landscapes unlike anywhere else.

Cappadocia: dramatic valleys and hundreds of hot-air balloons rising at sunrise.

These are the kinds of trips that feel completely different from everyday travel, and they’re some of my favorites to plan.

Who wants to come to Switzerland with me?

I’m heading to Switzerland next May on Roam by Tauck’s Bern & the Matterhorn journey, May 30–June 5, 2027!

We’ll spend six nights between Bern and Zermatt, e-biking through the Swiss countryside, heading up to Glacier Paradise, and enjoying a private alpine dinner overlooking the Matterhorn, with plenty of free time built in too.

Heckfield Place is a beautiful country escape in Hampshire, just about 45 minutes from Heathrow.

Set on 400 acres, it feels completely removed from London, with gardens, lake walks, a beautiful spa, and a strong focus on food grown right on the estate.

I especially like it as the first or last stop of a UK itinerary, when a slower couple of days in the countryside can be the perfect way to begin or end the trip.

For the right itinerary, this is such a special place to consider!

Clients always ask me when to visit Norway, and the answer really depends on what you want to experience.

Summer gives you long days, fjords, and the Lofoten Islands.

Winter brings the northern lights, dog sledding, and snowy coastal scenery.

Either way, there are some incredible places to stay along the way.

One of the first hotels I think of for Napa is Auberge du Soleil.

Set in Rutherford overlooking the vineyards, it’s one of Napa Valley’s most iconic luxury stays. The Michelin-starred restaurant is a highlight, but the views and peaceful setting are just as much a part of the experience.

I especially love it for couples or anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway with easy access to some of Napa’s best wineries.

The right Napa hotel depends on the kind of trip you want, but Auberge du Soleil is absolutely one I love considering.

Charleston already makes it very easy to fall in love with it, but staying somewhere like The Dewberry makes it even better.

It’s stylish, beautifully located, and has one of those rooftops that makes you want to stay for one more drink.

It also happens to have some serious accolades behind it, including being named Virtuoso’s best independent hotel in the world.

If Charleston is on your list, this is one I’d absolutely keep in mind!

Michelin’s highest hotel rating is three Keys, and one of the hotels to earn it is made up of just ten luxury tents in the Namib Desert in Namibia.

Zannier Sonop is set among granite boulders on a private reserve, with four-poster beds, clawfoot tubs, and incredible desert views.

Days can include horseback rides and hot-air ballooning, while evenings bring five-course dinners, an open-air cinema, and some of the clearest night skies you can imagine.

Namibia may not be the first place you think of for a luxury escape, but this is exactly why it should be!

Aman Kyoto is tucked into a peaceful forest just minutes from some of Kyoto’s most iconic sights, including the Golden Pavilion.

It feels incredibly quiet and removed from the city, with spacious accommodations, forest views, and one of Kyoto’s few natural hot spring onsens.

Fall is especially beautiful here, when the property turns shades of red, orange, and gold.

If Kyoto is on your list, this is the kind of hotel that can completely change the feel of the trip!
