Location does matter. Keep the attic exhaust vents in one single row horizontally. Installing the correct quantity of vents is important, but so is maintaining curbside appeal. Function and fashion can coexist. Thanks for finding and sharing these, Howard.

Resource Alert…

Ridge Vents are a popular choice for attic exhaust airflow. But is there a maximum building width or rafter run limitation?

Roofers commonly ask if a structure can be too wide to neutralize ridge-vent effectiveness.

“I have seen both of these attic exhaust vents improperly used on top of masonry chimneys. The static vent is on top of a chimney that vents the flue gasses from the furnace and water heater. Slant-back attic exhaust vents installed BACKWARDS. The slant-side should be facing the peak of the roof for various reasons including proper shedding of rainwater.
