Found in the Field…Avoid the trifecta of attic exhaust vent types. Stick with one type (wind turbines OR ridge vents OR gable vents OR individual box vents/off-ridge vents OR power fans). Found in the Field…Wind turbines are a good choice for attic exhaust ventilation on certain shaped roofs. Individual box vents or off ridge vents are also a good choice. But not together on the same roof above a shared common attic. It causes short-circuiting of the airflow, violates vent maker and shingle maker guidance, and goes against Chapter R806 of the International Residential Code that states: “Follow the vent maker’s installation guidance.” Thanks for finding and sharing this, Don Ogden, Public Insurance Adjuster in Texas.
