Our Kings and Prophets series explores that God kept His promise and brought His people into their own land. To show His love for His people, God raised up leaders called judges. He also raised up prophets to give the people His messages and to remind them that He is their ruler. But God’s people looked around and saw other nations and wanted to be like them. So God allowed His people to have kings to rule over them, and in return God asked those kings to follow Him. Through the stories of kings and prophets, kids will see how God is in charge and that He is the one who is always with us.

In our Think Again series, we will discover that when we wander from God to do things our way, still, God is faithful. He invites us to repent—to think again—about our sinful choices, to think again about who He is. It’s a pattern God’s people know well. And every time they wander, God invites His people to think again. And every time, He is faithful.

Is it hard for you to think again? It can be so difficult to process when we hurt another person unintentionally or when we make choices that were really selfish. But what is beautiful and amazing about God is that He gives new starts over and over again. “LORD, who is a God like you? You forgive sin. You forgive your people when they do what is wrong. You don’t stay angry forever. Instead, you take delight in showing your faithful love to them” (Micah 7:18 NIrV). God delights in showing us love. He does not stay angry. God is faithful even when we are not. Read 2 Timothy 2:13. Even when we wander, God invites us back. What a gift! We can turn back around and start again. So what is God inviting you to do?

One of my fav parts of BKids is watching our kids get to be a part of learning and leading one another. We do this through large group and small group time. Kids get to share their stories and talk about how the Bible comes to life and applies to them!

Next up is the Think Again series! This series explores five Old Testament stories of people who wander from God. Cain kills his brother, and people build a tower to reach God on their terms. Later the Israelites worship a golden calf, complain in the desert, and experience God’s mercy through the judges. Every time, God invites His people to think again. And every time, He is faithful.
