“In late 2023, about a year after moving to Texas, I blindly signed up for Flipflops and Adventures Tuscany tour. I had never been to Italy, didn’t really know what to expect, and definitely didn’t know that one decision would lead to some of the best experiences, and friendships, of my life.

I fell in love with Italy immediately. The incredible farmhouse meals, amazing wine, breathtaking Tuscan views… it was everything you imagine Italy should be, and somehow even better. We are counting down until we are kind of busy while we are back on our annual sailing yacht trip in the Mediterranean. (15 days!) 📆

This year we are headed to Mallorca for sunshine, swimming, tapas, and making memories!

Hello Adventurers! I only have a few opportunities remaining to join me on an adventure in 2026 before they are all booked up.

I have 2 rooms open on my November Greece: Footsteps and Flavors tour where we will visit the ancient cities of Athens, Corinth, Thessaloniki, Philippi and the monasteries of Meteora. We will have a special guest speaker to add interesting cultural and biblical context to the destinations, take a walking food tour, wine tasting, and explore the highlights of Ancient Greece.

I have 3 rooms available for my October Florence and Tuscany Food and Wine tour of Italy where we will stay on a working farm where everything we eat was grown on the property, have farm to table dinners, take a cooking class, wine tastings, go truffle hunting in the forest with truffle puppies, shop the leather markets of Florence and soak up La Dolce Vita.

My Prosecco and Peaks tour in October was previously sold out, but I was just able to add 2 additional rooms. We will stay on a farm in Prosecco country and visit local wineries for Prosecco tasting, stomp grapes, participate in a cocktail making class, a tiramisu class, mozzarella making lesson, dinner under twinkle lights in the ancient vineyards, stay at a spa hotel in the stunning Dolomite mountains, and end the trip with a private water taxi tour of Venice and a private dinner on the Grand Canal.

I am really excited for this tour!

I worked on it for several years to get the concept the way I envisioned it and pull it all together.

I am looking forward to visiting each of these destinations to learn about the history and to hear the cultural context that our special guest Seth McDowell will be adding, plus I love Greek food!

I say it all the time but I will say it again… One of the best and most unexpected effects of starting Flipflops and Adventures is the community that was created with people who love adventures and good food.

I am thrilled to see the friendships that have formed and anytime we get a group of us together it’s like a family reunion.

A couple of months ago, I was invited to a chefs tasting dinner by my client Kyle Gabhart (and amazing financial planner- shoutout to Bluegrass Legacy Group!)

It was an amazing experience at Food Adventure Memories FAM and I immediately asked the chef if I could have an exclusive dinner for Flipflops and Adventures. He said absolutely, so the plans were set in motion. People booked flights from Indiana, drove in from Houston and came from every corner of DFW.

It was a magical night where we shared incredible food and talked about previous adventures together, filled each other in on life updates and started making plans for where we should go in 2027…

The dinner created by Chef Brad started with a charcuterie bread that included homemade salami and welcome cocktails. Then we proceeded to have a 9 course dinner that was filled with unexpected and delicious dishes. 3 starters, 3 entrees and 3 desserts. The flavors were interesting but never too much or weird.

The ingredients were hyper local and I will never stop thinking about the homemade sourdough with homemade butter made from cultured cream.

We are making plans for another dinner asap and there are talks about a possible interesting and exciting new upcoming collaboration! Stay tuned for more!

🌅 This is one of the moments I’m looking forward to most on our Greece adventure. Watching the sun set over Meteora is something I’ll never forget—and I can’t wait to share it with our guests.

Sometimes people think that high tea sounds like an event that you eat tiny bites, leave hungry and DEFINITELY don’t take your kids!

But we have discovered that when it’s done right, a high tea can be an absolute feast, and the kids menu sometimes makes the adults jealous… but everyone makes amazing memories together!!
