Accomplice Arrested in Danville Homicide Case
Danville Police have made an arrest in connection with last Thursday’s deadly shooting at the Airport Mart Exxon—though it wasn’t the gunman.
On April 18, authorities arrested 21-year-old Keontae Tarpley for helping the primary suspect, Jaelynn Lowen, flee the area after the killing of 47-year-old Pinakin Patel. Investigators say Tarpley gave Lowen a ride to the Burlington area shortly after the shooting took place.
Tarpley is now facing charges as an accessory after the fact in a homicide investigation.
Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument over an alleged theft. Lowen, also 21 and from Danville, is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.
The search for Lowen continues. Authorities urge anyone with information to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 434-793-0000. Anonymous tips can also be sent via the CARE app or [email protected].
