Come join the fun as The City of Danville's First Fridays presents the 5K Super Run on April 4th at 5 p.m.

The Danville Police Department is notifying the public that there will be road closures during this event. Barricades will be set up, and Police Cars and Fire Trucks will be assisting with traffic and closures. Starting in Downtown Danville at North Street, the route will run north on Walnut Street to Madison Street and then go west to Oak Street. From there, participants will go north on Oak Street to Williams Street. At that location, the route turns east on Williams Street to N. Vermilion Street. The route then turns south on N. Vermilion Street back to the Downtown Danville Area.

Some intersections, such as Vermilion and Williams, will be closed during this event. Please drive safe and show support, consideration, and patience to all runners and walkers.

The National Great Rivers Research and Education Center is leading a volunteer training workshop at Forest Glen Preserve's Gannett Education Center on April 26 from 9am-4pm. Participants will learn how to measure a stream waterway, collect and identify invertebrate samples, then use that information to help track the health of their aquatic ecosystem.
