A reminder to get your STAR ID if you plan on flying in the US any time after May 7! That's in less than a month!

‼️𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬‼️
There will be 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 on the STAR ID! Effective May 7, 2025, every domestic air traveler will need a REAL ID-compliant license/ID (STAR ID) or another form of identification.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) developed the STAR ID program to comply with the Federal REAL ID Act. STAR ID is a step beyond an ordinary Alabama driver's license or non-driver identification card and meets all the requirements of federal law.

STAR IDs are issued originally to qualified individuals only at ALEA exam offices. County-operated license offices will continue to provide renewals/duplicates for license, ID cards, and STAR ID.

Any Alabama license or identification card issued on or after April 25, 2022, that is not compliant with the REAL ID Act of 2005 (not a STAR ID), will display “Not for Federal Identification” across the top of the credential.

We are beyond thrilled to have received this grant from Innovate Alabama to build a boardwalk and bring accessibility to an area of Daphne that is currently inaccessible to the public! This project will help drive ecotourism to our area and create opportunities to see and explore more of what Daphne has to offer! Special thanks for all of the support from our Mayor Robin LeJeune and to Senator Chris Elliott and Commissioner Blankenship for their dedication to our community and commitment to supporting projects that enhance our city. We are ecstatic about more exciting and new ways to discover Daphne! 🎉🎉

The City of Daphne is thrilled to have received an Innovate Alabama grant for over $750,000! This grant will assist in the continued growth of our boardwalk trail system along the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay.
