I’ve had some really good times with Mr. Mitchell lately. Fun when clients become friends and the fishing comes together. When it wasn’t raining and windy as can be about a week or so ago we were able to do a Capt. For Hire trip on Mitchell’s tricked out 24 Everglades. This trip was about red snapper and a redemption shot on a tripletail, something Mitchell has wanted to cross off the list for a while. Me, Butch and Mitchell got our snapper limit to start the day but didn’t get any pictures and then rode around, burned some gas and put in the time to get it done with this nice 13 pounder that made for a great learning session for targeting blackfish on his own. Really look forward to getting Mitchell back out there next time he’s in town!

Windy and rainy forecast has me thinking about all the beautiful weather we had last week. Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to take my buddy Mr. Gary Gould and his son in law Dylan on the boat. Every time we talk Gary mentions big fish and wanting to chase something that pulls hard, so I made a game plan to target Redfish, Jack Crevalle and Red Snapper. The redfish didn’t pan out but we got Gary and Dylan all jacked up on their crevalle’s and they were both one and done, raving about how hard they fight. After that we went to snapper town and got their four for the box and then shot in and grabbed a couple flattys to wind it down. Pretty sick day with a great crew.

The weather won’t be as good this week but if anybody wants to try and put something together in some wind and potential rain then give me a call and we’ll see what we can make happen. My only open day is Wednesday the 17th. 251-623-4205

Been a spectacular week of fishing this week. Had a group trip with a couple local guides, Coastal Fins Fishing and Capt.Collier, and we had an absolute blast guiding this larger group on Monday and Tuesday. The speckled trout bite was on fire for all three boats and we all went and got some bonus snapper during some decent weather windows. Huge thanks to Robby for having us out there and making us a part of his group trip, look forward to the next one for sure.

This week started off with a Capt. For Hire trip with a client who’s starting to become a good buddy and friend. I ran Mr. Mitchell’s 24’ Everglades that he’s got tricked out with all the latest electronics including Seakeeper Ride trim tabs. This boat was an absolute tank and we put her to the test from dodging storms to fishing nearshore to coming back and trout fishing in the skinny water. Had an absolute ball with Scott, Steven and Mitchell, crews like this don’t even make it feel like work, we had a real good time and knocked it out the park with Speckled Trout, White Trout, Flounder and Red Snapper all getting a free ride home for dinner!

Been having a lot of fun out on the water lately running guided trips in the boat. When I’m booked on the boat, Riley Ludlam is running the beach and taking folks to have an incredible time. Riley guided the Macasa family yesterday to a fun morning of catching fish on the beach with a lot of action! Whiting and puppy drum for a fish fry and photos/memories to last these kids and their parents a lifetime.

Personal best Redfish, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel and marked Tripletail off the list with local client Pete and his son this past week. Had a really good time with these boys listening to some good music and catching some cool fish with these guys. This trip was about learning how to teach these guys some tips and tricks on improving their own game when they get to go in their boat and we got it done! Look forward to going out with these two again later in the year, really good vibes having these two on the boat, I truly enjoyed being their guide.

Good times and tight lines for one of my crews last week on the boat. These fellas vacation down here regularly but had never had the luck they were hoping for when it comes to targeting trout, reds or flounder. We had a little bit of a slow start but got the ball rolling with a 5’ blacktip shark and then started to get into a rhythm on some good game fish. Memories were made and tactics were learned to help them on their next effort, and hopefully I’ll see these guys again! Daniel and his nephew are welcome any time.

Got on a fun bite fishing the beach yesterday with Bill and his three boys! These guys have a house in Dauphin Island, Alabama and were interested in learning how to increase the quality of their catches when fishing from the beach and from shore. We started our morning on the beach and caught lots of catfish and a few stingrays that got the rods bent and then dialed in a speckled trout bite in some dirty water and were able to put several speckled fish in the box for their dinner as well as a bonus whiting. After a couple hours out front in the big waves we switched gears and hit some land based spots on the N side of the island where we were able to find another trout and a bonus flounder to close out the day. Had a good time with these guys and look forward to doing it again sometime!

Had a good time with a Kole and his Kentucky crew yesterday. We had to fight some tougher conditions and some dirtier water than preferred and were able to have a good time bending the rods and putting a few fish in the box. Kole and his family had us cracking up the whole time and they were an absolute ball to guide, look forward to seeing them next time they come to town!
