Located in a secluded, wildlife-rich corner of the Maasai Mara, Paradise Plains has created a true luxury in the wilderness feel, complete with a tent for bathing, one for reading and cocktails and one for sleeping. Wake up to the sounds of lions, zebra and giraffes wandering through the camp.

A sunrise boat tide on Lake Nakuru is magical — and just deal for photographing the huge population of birds there. Fresh coffee, breakfast and a glass of champagne completes the experience! Now on to the Masa Mara!

Between Nairobi and the Masa Mara is Lake Nakuru National Park: amazing bird and flamingo flocks, black and white rhino sightings, and one of Kenya’s most scenic safari stops. We love the Cliff lodge, where you can watch the sunrise over the lake and enjoy the camp’s warm hospitality, fun cocktails and delicious food.

Only an hour train ride from Brussels is the fairytale medieval city of Bruges, known for its cobblestone streets, romantic canals, and beautifully preserved architecture. Lunch in the famous De Halve Maan brewery, (where there was a sheepdog party!), and a boat tour complemented with hot chocolate and a walk around the square made for a perfect day!

✨ Welcome to Lecce, the “Florence of the South” ✨
A golden city where Baroque palaces, ornate churches, and sun-washed piazzas glow in soft limestone light. Wander through winding streets, linger over a caffè leccese (sweetened with almond syrup), and discover hidden courtyards bursting with bougainvillea. Lecce feels timeless—elegant, vibrant, and full of southern Italian charm. A perfect place to stay within the city walls is with its rooftop lounge. ✨ Immerse yourself in the flavors of Puglia with the Cooking Experience at Tipico with Maya & Gianna. We began at the market, where Maya—chef and owner—walked us through the freshest seasonal ingredients. Then came the fun: kneading focaccia, rolling pasta, simmering sauce, and grilling bombette. The best part? Enjoying it all together with local wines. 🍷

For a perfect day trip from Lecce, don’t miss Ostuni—a whitewashed seaside town that’s as quaint, local, and beautiful as it gets. 🌊🤍

In the heart of southern Italy, the hilltop towns of Locorotondo, Alberobello, Ostuni, and Matera showcase the very soul of Puglia. Locorotondo – A whitewashed hilltop village known for its perfectly circular historic center (“the round place”), narrow lanes, and balconies draped with flowers. It’s one of the “Borghi più belli d’Italia” (most beautiful villages of Italy).
Alberobello – Famous for its fairytale-like trulli houses—white conical-roofed dwellings unique to this part of Puglia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town feels like stepping into an open-air museum.
Ostuni – Nicknamed “La Città Bianca” (The White City), Ostuni perches dramatically on a hilltop overlooking olive groves and the Adriatic Sea. Its maze of sun-bleached alleys, baroque churches, and panoramic terraces make it one of Puglia’s most iconic towns. Matera – Straddling the border of Basilicata and Puglia, Matera is famed for its ancient Sassi cave dwellings carved into limestone cliffs. Once considered one of Italy’s poorest areas, it’s now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a European Capital of Culture, with boutique cave hotels, rock-hewn churches, and cinematic views at every turn.

We began our exploration of Puglia at Masseria Le Torre, tucked among centuries-old olive groves, and immediately felt the slow rhythm of Puglia wrap around us. The whitewashed stone buildings, once a working farmhouse, are now blend rustic charm with understated luxury. Mornings began with breakfast under a pergola scented with jasmine; afternoons were for lounging by the serene pool. Evenings brought candlelit dinners of fresh, local ingredients and, of course, wine. The owners, Mimi and Silvana, made every guest feel like precious friends and made our stay feel both authentic and indulgent, a perfect escape into the heart of Puglia.

A magical trip draws to a close. We said farewell to the Dolomites on the most picturesque ride of my life — skimming the mountainsides and down along the sparkling coast of Lake Garda. We wandered the charming streets of Riva before boating across the lake to Vecchia Malcesine for a Michelin-star feast.

Our local guides, Ricardo and Alberto, thought of every detail: unique nights in agriturismos, five-star hotels, and a Relais & Châteaux property. We biked alongside a chef who later prepared an unforgettable dinner, rode electric mountain bikes to a hidden waterfall, hiked, pedaled through vineyards, tasted exquisite local wines, and explored Lake Garda by boat.

I can’t imagine experiencing this breathtaking region any other way. Our new friends made the trip special…especially the All You Can Eat bike club, with an average age of 78(inspirational), my uphill biker pal Penny and my favorite biker of all time David! Huge thanks to DuVine and their team for crafting such a perfect trip!

The Dolomites have been on my bucket list for a long, long time!! And now I can say, they were definitely worth the wait. We biked along a roaring river, past quaint villages filled with window boxes and had lunch with our wonderful chef that biked along with us, Simone, at his gourmet region restaurant. Vecchia Canonica. Then we rode uphill for 10 miles,(which helped work off an incredible lunch!) to the beautiful Chalet del Sogno. Our guide, Alberto, not only leads the cycling, but is an Olympic snowboarder and also owns and manages this beautiful 5* Chalet.
